What's the best site structure to promote affiliate product?

Hi all,

I am really new in internet marketing and about to give a go. Basically, I decided to try promoting affiliate product. However, I'm not sure what would be the best structure for my site. Should it be a site promoting a product (supported with several articles),

affiliate product (as sales copy)
|
+-- blog
|
+-- article
|
+-- article

or a generic site with several categories with several articles (with related affiliate products).

blog
|
+-- category
| |
| +-- article + affiliate product
| |
| +-- article + affiliate product
|
|
+-- category
|
+-- article + affiliate product
|
+-- article + affiliate product

Perhaps, experts here can assist with the best way to go.

Thanks

I would not pick a product focused domain name or anything but focus on just one product at first. Have a sales page, a blog, and write articles and reviews, etc.

From there you can expand and take over new territory and review new products.

Most of the time I create blogs which are centrally focused on one affiliate product. I always choose 2 column seo optimized theme and build content around buying keywords such as reviews, is it works, is it a scam and the list goes on.

SDK, is it similar to my 1st option where you have the main page as the sales copy (for affiliated product) and have blogs to promote the affiliated product?
