Anyone Has Problem With 1&1's Domains Renewals Notifications?

Today i have realized when received latest 1&1 invoice that i have not been receiving renewals notifications since June 2011! Earlier they have been in a transition and upgrade process of their domains management systems and i thought this will be fixed but i was wrong. I have sent them a message month ago and they told me they are investigating. So far until today nothing from them and i have been charged.

Anybody has been having this problem also here?

I would be surprised if you weren't having 1&1 problems.

Google 1&1 scam and see how many people are very unhappy with 1&1

      What registrar do you use?
Are you aware of a software that allows to track domain names expiration dates?

I use Godaddy and Namecheap. No, not aware of a software that does that.

This is the reply i got:

          Dear Client, (Customer ID: sensored)

          Thank you for contacting us.

I apologize for any inconvenience caused in this confusion. Our system generates Domain Renewal Reminders as more of a courtesy. We have no control over sending those notices out. Ultimately, it would be the responsibility of the account holder to pro actively cancel unwanted domains and/or keep note of renewal dates. Again, our apologies for the inconvenience.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

I am currently being pursued by a collections company for $30+ for domains I cancelled well before they expired. The collections agent laughed when I explained that. He said he hears that from everyone.

Oh, ha ha ha. That's an expensive joke.

    Very unhappy with 1&1.

I have used them for several years now without issue. Get renewal notification, notices they are renewed, etc.

They did change things to where the default setting is for 'auto-renewal', but you can turn it off and it won't renew. They send you notice that it's turned off, one to remind you, then one that it expires.

Their support isn't the sharpest, but have been happy with the service. A bit slow for new registration, but not real bad.

    Thanks,

    John
