Why oh why are you so hard to contact?

I am looking for an expert to interview on presenting webinars/webcasts and have so far located three products on the topic whose authors seem like they might be good. However, each one is protected by a help desk and there is no contact information that I can find for them, even using all the Google tricks I know.

Maybe these people don't really exist?

Or maybe they have put their business on autopilot and are not interested in other opportunities?

Or perhaps they're just stupid?

I tried registering at two of the helpdesks. At one, the Captcha program won't accept my numbers. At the other one, I have not received the confirmation message I need in order to post my question.

I have had my email address online for nearly 25 years without any problems I couldn't handle. If you're playing hard to get because you think it makes your life easier, then understand that you're also missing out on interesting things people can't tell you about!

Have you tried contacting through the "whois" information on the domains?

That's a trick I love to use, but with the rise of godaddy over the past decade, almost everyone is behind "registration proxy" companies these days. When I'm trying to reach someone specific behind a website, I'm successful only about 10% of the time. Frustrating, but I'd suggest to the OP to not spend too much time on it. If someone doesn't have a phone number, doesn't respond to email within a day (2 tops in rare circumstances), and in general puts up those hoops to jump through, I don't want to do business with them in any capacity - life's too short.
