Looking for a copy of Dreamweaver for Mac

Hi,
I bought a new computer and went from PC to Mac.
So I need to replace my copy of Dreamweaver.
I have tried to buy it online for $60 and got a broken copy. I have not been able to figure out the bit torrents and don't want to spend $380.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Kevin

You might find an older version for sale on eBay somewhere..

Otherwise, stay clear of Torrents as they are usually packed full of PPI (Pay Per Install software) that will take you ages to get rid of, and then find the s/w still doesn't work..

    Hope this helps..

The answer is to go buy the Mac version from Adobe. I don't think anyone here is going to help you pirate a piece of software.

I wasn't asking for help with pirating it, in fact I paid for it already.

I don't think Adobe sees it that way.
To them, DW for Windows and DW for Mac are 2 different products.
They have to hire different programmers to write the products for the different platforms (even though there may be a good chunk of the product that is the same -- that is, they can leverage their work on the one platform for the other platform.)

You might try contacting Adobe and ask them if there's a discount for owners of the Windows version to buy the Mac version. Or look on Mac support boards to discover how others have dealt (hopefully, legitimately) with the issue.

If you think you've bought a piece of software that runs on one platform that you are automatically entitled to the same-named software on a different platform, you are in for a rude awakening.

Nevertheless -- I do think it would be awesome if Adobe and other companies provided an expedited and cheaper way for people to get the software on a different platform that they already own on one platform. Such a program would, of necessity, mean relinquishing your copy of the software on the original platform if you wanted to do a straight-across trade.

It might be an interesting program that someone like Apple might be interested in encouraging by application development companies. Though they might have trouble getting Microsoft on board.

Did you pay for the Mac version?

Also, when someone mentions bit torrents, I automatically think pirating.

Sorry if I jumped the gun.

Sounds like you bought an upgrade?

If you did, just purchase an old version on fleabay...and you're set.

If you already have a copy of Windows and a copy of Dreamweaver for that OS simply get one of your developers/tech support guys to create a partition on one of your Mac's hard drives, install windows, install DW and carry on as normal.

Google for the precise steps for doing this or go to Apple support forums etc.

A lot of people run windows on macs these days...since they switched over to Intel chips.
