Security Surveillance - Is it important to Market?

I have this CCTV - POS and IT (PC hardware) business which I desperately like to market out there. I'm about to spend $300.00 for the next six months with Yelp.com to promote this -- but doesn't anyone know online if there is another method to drive traffic to a popular product like "LILIN" and "CAMSTAR" to sell to those potential clients interested in the item?

buyitpc.com is where these products are hosted, with at least 26 + products being added to my site, I am seeking a dependable and reliable source to promote this site.

I have no problem spending the $300.00 with YELP since I understand it should work, but at the moment I like to know alternative options.

Any suggestions and advise would be most appreciated.

IU had a security camera company for 6 years selling and setting up cctv systems all around the world. I was able to generate more business from buing leads then any advertisement. You can buy leads from buyerzone or servicemagic. The market is getting very saturated since when I first started in it but there is always a good lead out of a dozen. Takes alot of marketing and meeting, can get very frustrated. If you want to market on the internet yelp is ok but it wont pay your light bill. you need to do little of everything, blog, articles, backlinks, blogging, ebay, amazon. get your name out there. my cctv company has been closed for over 4 years and i still get calls from ads out there and i havent marketed it in 5 years.

      Hi Jossk:

Thanks for your kind words. I was introduced to this business from a colleague last year, and he raised my interest. However, I do see your point about the market being saturated, and agree. Maybe this market isn't a good one after all... if the market share is tight and there are plenty of them out there. But the leads from the two - buyerzone and servicemagic I'd never heard of... interesting... Yelp isn't great for this type of business I agree... I feel that paying another two months is a waste of time for me and will drop it after the end of this month to break out of the contract. You gave me some serious thoughts about this and I do appreciate it!

Guess the IT market it drying up and time to focus on something new, eh?

thats a great method but if you are not a good sales man you will just pay money and wont be able to close a sale. if you know how to talk and convince people this will def be worth it. you will pay maybe up to 20 bucks for lead but you can generate from it much much more. also try to promote your websites and get it high on google. traffic will naturally come and so will the sales. Hi Tamiro1992-

I have an account on Google, it's a little slow generating sales, in fact the past two months I go maybe three calls if not 4 from Google on PC repairs. Not from CCTV or anything else.

Not that I'm not a good sales person, it's finding the customers that's been hard for me, even Internet Marketing I'd decided to quit it... because I have to have an existing prosperous leads of clients in order to offer things out... it's a cach 22 for me... being first I don't have a list of people and second where to do get one... LOL!

Anyways, I like the CCTV and IT offering business, but the market seems dry - and not too many potential clients are requesting my services nor have a need as the market constantly changes... ugh!

My experience has shown that to capture online customers.. getting your website to top 3 matters most than displaying adds and other stuffs..

        Hi abdulquddus-

I have to agree - Google has me on the second page I think on the #1 spot as "A" in the local search - although I am a bit confused about it... even though Internet Marketer's call upon me from time to time to pay them to rank me higher at cost over $500 and more to remain at #1.

To be honest, its beyond my reach - because you have to pay at least $2k before you start to see results. If this was the 1990's when business was plentiful and money was easier to come by I wouldn't think second thoughts on the matter. But, the economy being the way it is... and I barely even make $100.00 a week now it's not worthy on the account of things.

I decided to run with CCTV and POS and Digital Signage as diversifying my business, but the competition and the market place is tight... ugh!

Google is really my best chance, although the "BBB" (Better Business Bureau) claims at $35 a month they will help a little with clout and offer legal advise. Not sure about that though... has anyone found any success with this?!? Think not?! Right??!?!?!

Sadly alot of providers have convinced companies and individuals that they have to pay unreasonable amounts to keep their ranks, or get SEO targeted traffic. take a look around the forum here, that's just not the case there are more than a couple providers in the "for hire" section that can help you with google ranks for a very reasonable fee.
and i'm not plugging my own service at all. I just saw someone who charges $29 for a seo service in the for hire section that gets alot of great reviews. just take a look around for someone that has great reviews and social proof.

    cheers

    Hi Mattjay:

Interesting, somethings it difficult to know who to trust on the matter. I know I get some traffic from off Google, although they sent me a FREE $100.00 offer which I tried and received one or was it two customers from it. A nice set of results... as Yelp has done nothing and truly not suitable for my needs as I'm beginning to learn the hard way.

Have you used the $29 SEO offer, and did it work for you? That's reasonable, no doubt!
