"RSS" is about getting live web feeds directly to your computer. RSS takes the latest headlines from different web sites, and pushes those headlines down to your computer for quick scanning.

    Wilson,

If you have a Wordpress site - just find a plugin that let's you specify an rss feed and insert it using a widget where you want it to show up.

    It's very simple.

Just google "wordpress rss plugin and you'll see".

I've actually just finished building a new plugin that does this too, but obviously I'm not going to talk about it in this thread. I'll be starting to let people get it very soon.

If you're not using Wordpress then you can still do it, you'll just need a script to get the job done. It's much easier to use WP and a plugin.

Dude - I'm not being funny but you can Google all these answers for yourself.

Wordpress has TONS of tutorial information and Google and Youtube are full of wordpress and plugin tutorials.

It's worth spending some time to read about it and learn it - like the rest of us did.

Wilson - I think you're confused about what the RSS feed is.

Your site will have an RSS feed of its own - which is a feed of all the posts you add to your site. It's address will probably be yoursite.com/feed.

You can submit the address of your RSS feed to RSS directories, if you want. Another site owner can add the RSS feed from your site to their own site - which will display extracts from the posts on your site. If anyone clicks on one of the extracts to read the whole post, they will be taken to your site.

If you want to display the RSS feed from someone else's site on your own site, you can use the RSS widget. This will display extracts from the posts from someone else's blog.

            Hi,

It seems like you've heard about it and are trying to use it without understanding why you need it.

This is a recipe for problems.

Unless you already know that you have a gap in your marketing plans and believe that this is the way to address it, you'll just waste your time.

WHY do you think you need rss?

There are lots of ways to use it depending on what you're trying to do.

Just wanting to "use rss" means nothing.

ANYTHING can be in rss format.

You can have the contents of any static html page included.

I wrote an introduction to RSS many years ago that you might find helpful - I've posted it in my WF blog here: http://www.warriorforum.com/blogs/an...rss-about.html

You can use a 3rd party software like autoblog samurai. But if you want you can do it manually. Then just set the posting date on your wordpress blog.
