Hi all,

I just did my first ever WSO; it's priced at $7. While looking at my Paypal account, I see that Paypal deducts .50 for every $7 sale.

Just wanted to know - is that the normal rate? Do they deduct a percent of teh sale or is it a set amount?

Paypal does deduct 0.5 on each sale and actually can go more based on who is buying (from what country), and if he using paypal account or credit card.

Do you have other WSO that you sell on other prices ? or is all your sales are fixed at 7 ?

I pay about -$1.04 USD of Fees for every $19 received, I believe it's percentage based (and depending on which currency)

Thanks for your replies.

This is the only WSO I'm selling and it's fixed at $7. Meanwhile, all the deductions have been .50.

I guess that's the cost of doing business.

Debbie,

Do you have a business paypal account? I think they only take money off when receiving money on a business account. Premier or Personal, I don't think there is a fee but I may be wrong.

It's better to have a business account. Gives you more credibility with PayPal.

DebbieD since all your payments are $7 you can reduce the deduction.

Go to your account and upgrade to pro or business, (your average payment shouldn't exceed $10).

PayPal has an option for people doing micro payments only (This is a new feature on paypal).

You have to apply through the link above and wait few days for them to approve (they will consider the average payment before approve your account), I guess this will reduce the fees

  and then look at microfees and other suggestions. You are paying for a service. I think the fee is reasonable but if you can find a way to pay less, that's even better.

Great information here - I have had a business account for years. I did not know about the micro-account looked at it and it looks good.

Yeah, the do have micro pay. This is great if you have a lot of 99 cent ebooks you want to move. I prefer to charge $20 for reports that are on paper. Get a lot less returns that way.
