Using country,city,state's name in my domain?

Hey there.
I need to reg one domain which contains the word "Idaho", can I create it? Is it legal? can be any problems?

    I don't think there should be any problem with that. I have several urls with city names.

    I think there won't be any problem ,,, I have a client who provide locksmith services in his city & he own a domain with city name in it and using it for years without any problem

    No problem with geographic domains. A lot of people make big bucks selling geodomains. Example: LasVegasCasinos.com would go for a fortune.

    As long as the site isn't masquerading as an official city/state site, there should be no problem. If it's just to promote (something or other) in (some geographic area), no probs at all.

    I wouldn't worry about it. Nobody owns the copyright to state and country names (I think).
