Escrow.com alternatives? How Do Small Time Site Flippers Transfer Their Domains And Not Get Screwed?

One of the tricks people do to scam people is pay with paypal, get the goods, whether it's an ebook or a domain name, then file an "unauthorized" debit with paypal and they get their money back, plus they KEEP the digital merchandise.

Even if you provide proof you shipped the digital goods, paypal usually refunds the buyers money and you lose the domain or whatever.

I know the big time site sellers use escrow.com which costs a MINIMUM of $25 dollars and you are pretty well protected, however if your site sale is only $200 then that is a pretty good chunk.

My question is what service, if any, do you site flippers use to make sure people don't get your domain or site and just file a complaint with paypal to get a refund and keep your stuff plus get their money back?

Is there an escrow.com alternative?

I've had that stupid "unauthorized purchase" dispute happen to me too many times.

I actually tried to use Escrow.com for the last site I sold (roughly $1000), but Escrow.com wouldn't allow it for domains (the most relevant category they had to choose from).

I doubt there's an alternative as widely trusted as Escrow.com, so I stick to flipping sites for less than $300 now.

I've sold a domain through escrow.com for over 30k with no problems, of course I had a legal doc/contract signed prior to that transaction and had good contact info on the buyer.

Another HIGHLY recommended service if you need a more personal touch and security is moniker.com's escrow service (they're licensed and all that jazz). I've moved about 7k or so a while back through them and actually interacted with the CEO a few times...their staff is amazing and very responsive.
