Hiya,

I am currently working on populating a new WP project, and have noticed 2 new comments today without tripping my page counter or noticing any change in my Google Analytics visitor count.

Both comments appeared to be genuine and "SPAM" free, so I approved them, but I got to wondering; "How are they leaving comments, if they're not visiting the site?"

Also, I usually put my statcounter in the widget sidebar, but this time I elected to put it in the footer w/my GA's code... not sure if this could be the problem or not?

Thanks,

Art

I'm not sure, but it still could be a bot or something like search grinder. I use tools to leave comments, BUT they are related to the blog so that they provide some value and are not just generic spam. I don't know if using something like this would affect the stat counter

LOL, of course they used wordpress commenting software. There are some of them, the most popular is scrapebox.
