Fiverr denied my gig after a month of 100% feedback, here's their reason...

Don't get me wrong, fiverr rocks! If you've ever contacted them with a question or concern of any kind, they respond with in a matter of hours. A level of customer service that should truly be modeled by all.

However, my gig has been active for over a month with 100% feedback and is no different from many other gigs serving the same market, with much higher ratings than my own.

It's not a big deal, as this was not one of my primary gigs, but I'm really just more curious than anything else. I thought gigs could only be denied when they were submitted, not weeks or months afterwards.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

That was exactly my thought too. The same thing happens on Yahoo Answers. I've tried that a couple of times and just given up. Established competitors beat you out every time.

Yeah, my first thought as well.

Although i didn't respond to the fiverr customer support asking them that question...

If they weren't planning on divulging this information in their initial email, I doubt they would tell me after after I inquired further.

Still, is it that easy for a competitor to get your "100% RATED GIG" deleted?

      I hope not!

I would ask them. It's your right to know what the problem is, especially if the gig has a 100% satisfaction rate.

As long as your gig was on the up and up it seems really odd that a 3rd party could get your gig shut down. I could see a lot of people doing the same thing to take out their competitors. Without a better explanation from fiverr I guess you'll never know the real reason.

        What's your problem?

There are a number of reasons your account could be deleted. Maybe you unknowingly violated their TOS and they only just noticed. Or you could've interacted with somebody on fiverr and ticked them off. Based on how you treated my advice just now that seems very feasible.

If you did have a jealous competitor you can see if there was a viable reason for that to be the case, and respond (or not respond) accordingly.

If you have any problem, start by eliminating the obvious.

I often report people who have copy and pasted my exact gigs. I'm not saying you copied one of mine, but maybe you're in a similar situation?

    But I will say this...
Fiverr support really sucks. They don't give a damn about anyone. I've had many arguments with them.

Well, I report gigs on Fiverr that are distributing copyrighted products without the rights to distribute those products. Those gigs tend to be 5 Star gigs too, but they are theft.

something is fishy here. There has to be a good reason that a site as big as fiverr.com removes a gig. Perhaps your gig flew under the radar for a while?
There are always 2 sides to every story...aren't there?
      just saying...it really seems weird.

still...glad to see you don't have all your eggs in one basket and that you have other sources of income going...just in case.

You may be right, there may be a good reason why.

But Fiverr Support does just suck. I had a guy place 15 orders in one of my gigs. He got exactly what he asked for from my gig and this particular gig has 100 positive reviews. THIS ONE person says to support "it isnt what i expected" and he gets a refund on 15 orders.

So now he has the work done from my end, for free...

          wow..that is terrible!
you know something, it's all about exploiting people who need money. That's the bottom line with many of these sites. They don't care about the members, cause it's just a number to them. Which is a pretty stupid way to be considering they could lose all their members if they suck as bad as you say and then they'd be toast eventually anyway, wouldn't you think?

I've done exactly the same thing.

If Fiverr gigs use copyrighted material without rights they should be pulled. People would be surprised how many wso's are being 'tweaked' and sold over there by sellers who don't have rights to the wso..

I can't stand fiverr. It's not about their support. It's about not getting paid what a good writer should be paid.

I don't know why you were denied. But maybe it's a blessing. If you're a good writer, fiverr is not worth it, IMHO

Yeah I just had a gig that was denied.

I had already sold one copy and had no complaint after the sale.

I asked their client care which took a couple days to reply - turns out that to keep fiverr fresh they will sometimes deny gigs in certain categories.

Mine was 46 minutes, 16 page pdf on how to rank youtube videos.. All of my own content, pretty friggen stupid.. but I guess it works for them.

Just a heads up they work in mysterious ways that may be better not to be questioned since it's zero dollars to list and a dollar everytime somebody actually purchases your product.

Now, if your product or service was being banned as a WSO that'd be a different story!!

    • Oh please, you really have to ask why your gig got tossed?

I looked at your Fiverr gigs. Fake positive Amazon reviews, fake positive Kindle book reviews, fake Listmania lists, telling people you can get rid of negative Amazon comments by reporting them as abuse, the list goes on and on. I'm surprised only one gig was yanked. I'd have banned you.

actually some of the sellers offering this type of service have already been classified by fiverr themselves as "top sellers" - esp the "fake review" service type. it's a case of you rub my back i'll rub yours -- isn't that a fact of normal business life??? no i would not have banned him thats a bit too self righteous in my opinion

Here's my issue with Fiverr. I've been there about a month, no issues, everything going great. All of a sudden my best selling gig, to translate from English to Spanish or viceversa, gets "reviewed". I've always had 100% rating, no negative reviews, and have delivered on time. In fact I just became a level one seller. So WHY are they reviewing my gig? Is this a scammy way to block traffic to me, or drop my sales? I have two people that want to place an order with me and now they can't.. Grrrrr

Nor would it be anything with sellers who violate TOS. The company needs to uphold standards in order to be valuable and respected.

Not that I'm saying this is the case - perhaps there is misunderstanding at some point in the process. But, it seems unlikely one bad review could cause this.

They are a funny bunch there at Fiverr.

I have a few very successful gigs on there, but before I got to that point, I've gone through hell and back with them. Very much like what you describe. "Someone" posted a complaint - and Fiverr JUST LIKE THAT acted on it.

When I contacted their support, I got an answer which I was convinced has a machine, not a human. I explained everything politely, etc and asked them some questions along with a plea to get reinstated, and the answer was brief and essentially "If you observe our TOS you won't get into trouble."

This enraged me, because I MIGHT take this kind of nonsense from a human - but not from a machine.

So I wrote to them again and asked if I could please speak/write with a HUMAN and not a machine, because my question was entirely ignored and I got a blanket reply.

I got another EQUALLY SOULLESS and inane reply.

At that point I was ready to forget Fiverr.

But - a few days later I thought - what the heck. And I wrote them one more message, complete with explanations, humor and so on.

This time I got a reply from a "human", lol, who answered my questions and promised to reinstate my gig if I promise "NOT TO VIOLATE THEIR TOS AGAIN". The point is - I didn't violate it.

So... I couldn't resist and replied that sure, I will not violate their TOS and that I DIDN'T violate their TOS to begin with. And... that here I was thinking I was talking to a human and yet I got this standard admonition - sin no more.

To this I got a reply that my gig was now reinstated.

And thus began my love affair with Fiverr. Since then I've decided to stay in touch and write to them with ideas, suggestions - COMPLIMENTS - and occasionally just to say how great they are.

Soon, the TONE of their replies changed. I now started getting more HUMAN responses, actually acknowledging what I wrote, giving feedback, etc.

But - SOME questions remain unanswered to this day. I've asked them to explain how I can get my all-bells-and-whistles multi-thousand-sale gig to be featured (while I see very poor gigs which are) and they just replied that it's up to the review staff and wouldn't give me ANY more info. I tried MANY times - nada.

Today, after a few hundred sales of one of my gigs I got a MISTAKEN thumbs down from a client who received a royal service, lol. I asked him to please change the rating but he didn't (yet) reply. So I wrote to Fiverr to please change that - which they flatly refused.

I provide these no-compromise gigs where I give 100x more than anyone expects (cost me lots of time) and I lose money on each gig - BUT - I get clients from them and MORE THAN compensate on the back-end. So, I KNOW that my gig CAN NOT get a thumbs down - except if it's a jealous competitor.

Fiverr, DOES NOT GET IT. They're extremely rigid with their rules and, basically, these guys who man the fort there are automatons. Pleasant enough people - but automatons nevertheless.

If you have problems WRITE TO THEM, be patient and pleasant - but expect VERY SLOW satisfaction.

If, like me, you tough this (quite frequent) BLATANT UNFAIRNESS out, then - if you have very good gigs - like me, you'll make a small fortune. This makes Fiverr a potentially EXCELENT source of income. But it is NOT for the faint of heart. lol

    cheers paul

It's really not big deal. My understanding based on the email I had with fiverr support is that they are still refining their system so gigs may be denied for a good reason, others may not. Either way, you will not win a disagreement with fiverr so I just moved on. Since I started this thread my fiverr business really took off. I had to actually hire someone full-time so I had time for other im ventures, and I'm still on pace to make 1600+ this month. Now that is passive income!
