How to set up a fan page with the "right" privacy settings.

This privacy issue (what I call FB's "tentacles" ) is of course what has put FB in the news many times. Unlike most sites that respect privacy, FB starts new users out with NO privacy as the default setting.

I've been exploring around FB, but I still don't know what the privacy settings ARE + how to adjust them.

Here's just ONE small example... to promote my page, I have posted funny pics on the walls of other pages. On some of these other pages, I've noticed that the pics I post IMMEDIATELY get "swallowed up" by the page, fall off of the wall, and end up *immediately* among the page's other photos (under the "photos" link (gallery).

While other pages behave differently -- when I post a pic on their walls, that pic STAYS THERE (visible, on the wall), and does not immediately get transferred to that page's photo gallery.

This difference must be because different pages are using different settings.

As I say, I do not even know what possible settings there are, and I certainly do not know how to set them, or why.

So... are there any all-in-one-place tutorials on this (preferably VIDEOS).

Please advise.

    I don't really think it's a privacy issue. It sounds like the pages that the photos are staying visible on have their wall set to show everyone's posts by default, and the pages where the photo doesn't show up on the wall after you post them have their wall set to only show posts by the page by default.

    If you click on "Everyone (Most Recent)" at the top of the page, you will see posts by everyone, including your photos.

    If you want to change the settings on your own page, it's under "Manage Permissions". The setting is "Wall Tab Shows:" and you can set it to "only posts by page" or "all posts".

    But really, I need to learn ALL the different possible settings + how + why they should be (re)set.
