I have started a blog on how to make money online. I need help in these categories:

1. How to drive more traffic (have ten views a day...lame)
2. Monetize it (make maximum profit)
3. What else to put on my blog (willing to pay for a steady writer after they make me money)

Please help... here is my link to the blog www.gmoneysystem.blogspot.com.

  • Monetize it by reviewing internet marketing product or online money making products in your posts.
Include affiliate links in these review posts.

Get some traffic by doing some youtube marketing or some article marketing.
Once you got traffic, lets say 1000 UVs per day, offer adspace at $30 a month.
Maybe even build a list via your blog.

    The potential is crazy!

    • Hi Gartmann,

I woulds say the most important thing for your blog at this stage is to build a stable readership that trusts you. If you're only getting 10 - 50 unique visitors now, there isn't a lot of point in putting up adsense and affiliate ads. It only makes your blog look less credible.

What you want to do is put up more articles. More content = more traffic. More traffic = more monetization potential. Like someone already said, one thing you should look into is building a list.

Also, you might want to change your blog template. It looks a bit plain at this point.

      All the Best!

  • Zach, I would highly recommend you don't start out with an IM blog... I know talking about IM is far more exciting then say...acne, but you'll make a lot more money in non-IM niches, especially starting out.

If you are set on making money with an IM blog then you need to really position yourself as an authority figure. Put a little more content into your posts or change it up with some videos showing your visitors how to take action. It seems your blog is about every different way to make money online and is very brief...I'd suggest a more focused approach, so you can get a strong following and really unravel your expertise.

The problem with being too broad is that your visitors have no real reason to return...if making money through surveys interests me why would I come back to your blog? I would go somewhere else to take the next step if I knew you were going to cover a completely unrelated topic the following week.

Try to connect your posts somehow, even if you want to talk about everything. Give them a reason to come back .

As far as traffic, your posts aren't keyword targeted so you're not going to get much organic traffic.

I highly suggest reading Chris Rempel's Confessions of a Lazy Super Affiliate. That book is still my model for affiliate sales and it was truly my turning point.

You can buy it through WF or Google it. Best $29 you'll ever spend, friend!

    Good luck.

    • Thanks this is all helpful... but how do i get articles that are keyword focused... just include a certain keyword like "money" in an article a lot?

  • I recommend that you do NOT monetize your free blog.
It is typically against free blog policies and the blog is
susceptible to being shut down. It's very disheartening
to discover that your content has vanished. And even
if you've backed it all up, it's a hassle to reconstruct.
Obtain your own paid hosting and start a WP blog.
Also agree with the others - find a non-IM niche.

  • Hi Zach, there are many threads which revolve around your title.

Do some search using the search feature and you will see some case studies which you can relate to.

    Cheers,
    John
  • If you can't make money from a blog, how do you expect to be able to educate your readers on how to make money?

Doesn't anyone else see anything wrong with this?

    • Hey John,

Great observation. There are far too many blogs which want to teach people make money online and they have yet to make their first cent.

      It is not uncommon.

I didn't go to his page because there are too many threads about this in this week alone.

      Cheers,
      John
