Some videos are best not going viral, but for marketing purposes it is best to get as much traffic using a variety of means.

Political satires, for example

, can bring traffic to your dating site. Go figure.

the traffic jump on that in Alexa is very impressive, but I still wouldn't NOT use YouTube.

You can't discount the fact that Youtube has tens and maybe even hundreds of millions
of eyeballs at your disposal.

Some little experiment I'm doing right now is already producing results for the simplest
of videos and is exceeding my expectations.

People make FULL TIME INCOMES just from YouTube.

But, either way the best man speech video is a great example of the power of viral marketing.

And I gotta agree with you - this page has a much bigger possibility of going viral.

I often forward funny e-mails to most of my friends, and they forwarded it on and on and on and on...

p.s. for that particular video, I would add another banners... There is a CB product: "Best Man Speeches" or something of that sort... I think you can find affiliate offers for almost any video you try to make go viral

I will seriously never try to go viral on YouTube from now on, ever. I got the above link in a forwarded email, that is going to spread like crazy--and it's really not that funny of a video at all.

wait...you`re not serious about not using YouTube?? How can YouTube do anything else than spread your video like a virus??? It sure as hell can`t hurt, it takes like 5 seconds to post the video with tags and everything, it`s good for SEO, it`s good for your site (you can display your domain name inside the movie and brand it)...I mean, I don`t see a single reason why every marketer in the world shoudn`t do this? And after all that, you can still put the original video on your landing page...

See OP for all of the answers to those Q's. lol. I've got a PRODUCT on marketing with YouTube and I'm saying this--I've thought it through. Going VIRAL OFF of YouTube is smarter than going viral ON YouTube. I'm not saying to NOT market on YouTube though... big difference.

I just saw the subscribers count for Kev Jumba on YouTube. 400,000 subscribers.

That's quite impressive for posting his college journal spoofs.

And you can join Adsense with YouTube.

The possiblities are endless. If you know how to create video you have the market on YouTube.

  Well, okay...I`m just saying, if you got a video you know will arouse attention, it`s fairly reasonable to say that it should be on YouTube. Don`t you think so? Of course there is SEO, so you can put a low quality video via TrafficGeyser of TubeMogul and even get some love from SE that way, but if it`s a high quality video, people gotta see it...
