How do I move my blog? - Rookie Mistake

Hi, When I was first setting up my pag eI put my blog in the root directory, well.. It's time to move it to where it belongs, in the blog folder so I can use the root for my squeeze page.

How do I move it? Do I just copy and past, if so I tried that but it's not working.

    Do you have cPanel ?

    I usually would just quickly make the changes to the url within Wordpress backend. Then move blog to that directory.

    If it gives you any trouble, take a look at the wp-config file and you may need to make changes manually.

    Do you have any FTP software? I personally use File Zilla its free.

    like "snidge" said you will have to make some changes in the wordpress backend, but fundamentally all you have to do is move all the files into the new folder.

    probably easier with the FTP software rather than the web based file manager on your hosting as i tend to find its easier and quicker that way.

    Hello, Yes I have Cpanel, and I use cuteFTP for my FTP transferring.
