I would use the above suggested for your hosting.

As for the business side or for what to write about, I would suggest you write about something you're interested in and something that has a buzz about it and a niche.

What are your interests? What excites you? What do you enjoy talking about, and how do you feel it would bring value to others?

These are all things to consider when starting a new site.

The real question is, why do you want to start a blog? If your end goal is to make money, then the recommendations will be quite different than if your end goal was to have a release for your creativeness.

My personal favorite for hosting and all that is to buy the domain at go daddy.com, host at hostgator.com, then install wordpress through the fantastico on the cpanel. Easy and cheap. I register my domains privately if I want them to rank and on a different c class ip from my other sites so I can use my other sites for link building.

Wow! This is exactly what I was going to post.

      :-)

      I will add:

If you are doing this for purely personal reasons, use the free version at wordpress.com or blogger.com.

If you are doing this to create a sustainable business, then cheap may not be the best way to go. Like he said above: godaddy, hostgator, and upload wordpress with fantastico in the cpanel. All very easy to do and godaddy and hostgator have great customer service even for a newbie and very basic questions on how to do anything, like set up your email, etc.

It is worth the money. And if you are doing this for business, you should create a list and capture names and emails addresses on your site and send them emails.

      For that, I recommend aweber.com

It sounds a bit confusing but if you take it step by step, it isn't hard, just takes some steps to get started.

      Good luck.

      :-)

Decide what it is you want to blog about before you begin. Your domain name should reflect the niche of your blog. For domain names, I also recommend NameCheap. I recommend HostGator for web hosting. They allow you to host unlimited domains on one account. Most bloggers have more than one blog, which is a primary reason why HostGator is so appealing.

As far as getting started, I suggest using WordPress. There are many tutorials on how to set it up, and it can be installed within 30 seconds from your host's cPanel. Check out YouTube if you need help with that. WordPress is very user and SEO friendly, and you aren't required to know any HTML or other programming languages. There are hundreds of thousands of themes available to customize your blog if you run WP.

Ditto on everything Kecia said... although, I'd recommend Blue Host, simply because I have personal experience with them (never used Host Gator, but I've heard good things about them, too).

I love WordPress. It's easy to use even if you're not a technical whiz, and with all of the different ways to customize things, it doesn't look "cookie cutter".

If you love anime and manga so much maybe you could blog about them and sign up with places like amazon and such that offer affiliate commissions and do reviews on your favorite movies and such. When I say reviews I mean get in to detail's talk about what you liked and disliked about the show stuff like that.
    Hope this helps.

I paid for 10 blogs to be written for me with no prior IM experience. I bailed on it soon after.
Find something you like and know about, research it to see how others have written about it, then blog what you know useing their writings as a template. Keep adding info until your satified with it. You will know when it looks ready to launch. Writing it yourself will gain you experiece you cannot buy. It will only get easier and easier each time. Good luck with it!

      Wordpress
      Namecheap
      Hostgator...

Good starting point. Search out as many blogs as you can within your niche or interest and begin commenting and interacting. This will create relationships within the niche that can go a long way in the future when it comes to traffic. You will also start to get ideas about how to build your blog based on things you see that are cool. Play around with alot of free WP themes as well- this can be inspiring and get you addicted to the project.

I know it all feels a little cloudy in the beginning but you really need to see if you can come up with a very detailed plan of attack. If we don't have an idea where we want to go it is kind of hard to get there. Figure out who your target audience will be and how you want to monetize your site.

Lastly, don't view it as work. Even if you start to create to-do lists don't put too much pressure on yourself. Do what you can do and have fun with the creative process. Manga has some insane creativity to inspire!

    I recommend using:
    HostGator for hosting
    NameCheap for domains

You can use fantastico from your hosting account cpanel to install wordpress in a few minutes. If you want a more secure installation you can use a service called Expert Wordpress which is free.

As for your content you should blog about something you are passionate about and that is also marketable. Just about anything in Health,Wealth or Lifestyle(relationships) is a good start.

You can also subscribe to related blogs in your niche to get inspiration for your content.

Wordpress will make most of the functions pretty straightforward so your biggest challenge is to provide engaging content.

P.S. Make sure you are building a subscriber list with your blog

Since it seems you are pretty new in this business, or at least at blogging, I would advise you to start with free Blogger blog until you get all the important things related to blogging... there is a lot of free information on the Internet, which I recommend because this is not a subject you can explain in just a few lines...

If you want to have your own website, then my vote for hosting goes to Hostgator, and for domain name to Namecheap... but it seems to me you are lacking on some basic things when it comes to blogging...
