I still don't get the squeeze page concept

I just don't get how to do it it. I never did even after reading several threads on the subject.

Visitor goes to squeeze page. Leaves name and email. Email is sent to visitors Inbox.

Question: How do I code a squeeze page to accept email subscriptions?

Visitor is redirected to confirmation page that requires them to check email Inbox and click on confirmation link inside it.

Question: How do I redirect to my custom confirmation page?

A second email is sent to visitor Inbox confirming their subscription with a link to my website included.

Question: What's sending that second email and how do I both edit and set up that second email?

No other emails ever to be sent to visitor.

Question: How do I stop the sending of emails after the double optin is done and how can the optins unsubscribe themselves?

Can someone give a step-by-step? I'm really slow at this subscription stuff especially since I wont be needing to follow up with visitor any more after he opts-in.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi there,

It sounds like you just need to sign up to an auto respnder account like aweber. Aweber will give you the code for the opt in box, and that is also where you submit the emails that will be sent to people after they opt in. You decide how many follow up emails are sent.

    Hope this helps.

An autoresponder. Like Aweber, Constant Contact, Get Response ETC.

Visitor goes to a squeeze page where you have put the code that you created in the autoresponder (It is very easy to do and a step by step thing). This then does the confirmation and you set up the follow up emails to be sent as and when you like. They stop when you don't enter anymore.

Respectfully you're over complicating this. Google "Autoresponder" or I'll get on Skype and explain it.

It seems that you understand the squeeze page itself but not how the autoresponder works.

I can understand that. I personally like aweber and they have exceptional help.

Once you see how simple it all really is, you can do it again and again.

Richard is correct: an autoresponder does all this.

But why are you bothering to capture people's email addresses in the first place if you never intend to send them any further emails? What's in that first (and last) email, or on the page to which they're subsequently redirected, that can't be displayed to people on their screens without their first entering their email address?

What's your goal if not to follow up with them? To sell on those email addresses to someone else?

Goal is to test traffic coming from offline ads.

You just very simply (in Aweber anyway) choose the template sign up form you want, follow directions and voila, it creates the code, you put the code where you want the form.

Question: How do I redirect to my custom confirmation page?
That is done in the steps you create when making the form.

Question: What's sending that second email and how do I both edit and set up that second email?
The autoresponder sends it. You have to create the message first and then tell the autoresponder how long after signing up the second email is to go out.

Question: How do I stop the sending of emails after the double optin is done and how can the optins unsubscribe themselves?
Simply don't add any further follow up messages. It can only do what you tell it to do. People can also unsubscribe themselves from the bottom of each email.

I hope that is a bit more detailed for you.

If you're using a service like Aweber this'll be easy; I'll help you out.
    Answers to your question

    1) I don't think that can be done. The user has to go to their email and actually verify they're on your list from there.

    2) In services like Aweber, after you create a squeeze page, it gives you the option to redirect where the user goes after they enter their email. You can let them go to the automatic squeeze page or you can direct them to a custom one. This can be done by creating another page where you want your user to automatically be directed to after they enter their name and email.

    3) Aweber allows you to automatically create email to be sent at certain intervals to users. So, if you've already created an email to be sent to users after they sign up, then what'll happen is after they enter their name and email they'll not only receive a confirmation link, but they'll receive the email you set at the certain interval.

    4) The users can unsubscribe by going to an email you sent them, and unsubscribing from there.

I don't know if that answered all your questions though, but I hope that helps!

If I understand the OP correct, that can be done very easily:

Just set the autoresponder to push the subscriber to a custom page when he signed up. On that page, ask him to check his mailbox!

      Cheers,

An auto responder will solve all your problems. Maybe you can start with a free service and after you've understood how everything works, upgrade to a paid service like Aweber.

Question: How do I code a squeeze page to accept email subscriptions?

You need to know a little about html and css. if you dont' know, I can help you, not for free, but cheap.

Question: How do I redirect to my custom confirmation page?

Just need to customize your aweber form in the Web Forms/ create a new web form or http://www.aweber.com/users/web_forms/edit/ (you need to be logged in) then after you choose your design click on the Settings tab, and you will see the next menus:

    -Form name
    -Thankyou page
    -Already Suscribed page.

Click on the emergent menu in the Thankyou page option, then the Custom page option, then put in the url of you desired thankyou page where the visitor will be sended.

Question:What's sending that second email and how do I both edit and set up that second email?

Go here: https://www.aweber.com/users/followups and click on the Create A New Follow Up Message link button.

Question: How do I stop the sending of emails after the double optin is done and how can the optins unsubscribe themselves?

Is up to you, if you do not want they send more emails to your customers just create only one follow up message and that is all.
About the unsuscribe option, aweber put it by default on every follow up message, do not worry about it.

Respectfully and I don't mean to be rude but if the OP wants to use Aweber I could show him how to do it in 5 minutes and I wouldn't dream of charging him for that.

One of the best known Warriors here got on Skype and helped me when I joined for an hour and never even thought to charge me.

Like I said, doing this in Aweber using something like Aweber is extremely user friendly. Do not pay for someone to show you how to do it.

I am not talking about how to use Aweber, but coding the squeeze page.

Would you do that for free? Great, but in my case I charge because I design and code.
But I just offered him doing that cheaper than usually, only as an option.

Any way, if you are ready to code the squeeze page, set up the html aweber form's code, upload it, and get it ready to get leads, for FREE go ahead, I would do it for free but just don't have much free time.

Otherway he would like to get the membershipn and get in the War room. There are a ton of free resources.

Sorry I thought you mean't you were going to show him how to generate the code for the form in Aweber. That is a two minute job.

I thought that was what the question was - How to code a page to accept email addresses. Well you just add it where you want it, I didn't think the OP was asking how to build the squeeze page, rather how to get the sign up form on the said page.

Yeah, but guys ... either I'm the only one here who's misunderstood the OP's post (I've read it many times over, to be sure), or we're jumping to conclusions here simply because a subscription-based autoresponder is quite often the solution people here happen to be seeking.

Look more closely before you call me a wacko.

From where I'm sitting, it doesn't appear necessarily to be the solution in this instance.

The OP has specified that he neither wishes nor intends ever to follow up with any of his subscribers. Does he need to save/store visitors' email addresses in the first place, or is he/she just assuming that to be the case?

If the OP is adamant about needing to save/store his visitors' email addresses, then fine. Maybe an autoresponder is the best solution.

Otherwise, it appears that a simple, 100% free form-to-email script can do exactly what he wants to do: send his visitor a single one-off email before redirecting them to a page of his choosing. Heck, some scripts of that type could probably store them, too, if necessary. No autoresponder needed for that, if no emails are ever to be sent.

If that's all the OP wants, I can't imagine why anyone would be prepared to pay for a subscription-based autoresponder, because it's totally and utterly overkill.

      * * *

Currently, what has happened here seems similar to the following hypothetical situation, in which I might say "I need transportation to get to work - please advise!", to which another person responds "A commercial airline jet is a form of transportation", and I come away having surmised that what I now need is a commercial airline jet to get to work. What about a bicycle? A car? A bus? My own legs?

One or more of these cheaper (or free) alternatives would likely be a viable solution, but no-one is suggesting any of them so I go out and blindly sink $150,000,000 on a Boeing-747 and a pilot's licence to commute to my day-job a few miles away down a flat tarmac road.

Very good point Michael and I did read your first post as well, I assumed he was talking hypothetically.. Ie. How to get form on the page, how is confirmation sent out, how does the next get sent out and how do they unsubscribe. You're looking deeper than me. (Where have you been as well Michael, long time no see!)

        Now, blueriver.

He is not asking for a landing page, he wants a squeeze page , he is a member from 2006, give some credit to him.
Landing page, squeeze page, email capture, they are all very similar. Don't think I'm not giving him credit either, I have been trying to help. I find that a bit of a silly thing to say.

Maybe you should give him some credit too.

....And yes. If the OP wants to buy a domain I can show him how to set up a squeeze page on WP. He doesn't need any plugins either, that again is over complicating it. You can add it as a text module or paste it directly in a post or a page.

For doing that you need to know how to get your wordpress blog/site done or some plugins (paid ones).
I'm starting to wonder if you know what you're talking about. You do not need a single plug in to put an opt in form on a WP site, let alone paid ones.

Have you used WP before? If so you're spending money you don't have to on plug ins.

Nowhere, really, in truth. No more than usual, anyway. I just swore off browsing and posting during the day for a little while in an attempt to boost my productivity (I get easily distracted! ) and structure my days better. It sort of worked, but by the time I permitted myself to come here, later in the day, I was too tired to log in and post and just ended up slumped in front of the TV and nodding off.

Fair enough but on WP I can create a headline and the text and just go to the HTML tab of the post or page I'm making it on and copy and paste the code I generated on Aweber where I want it to go.

That's not very hard. I appreciate if you build it from scratch using HTML or whatever you use, it would involve a lot more effort.

Respectfully though we are over complicating this for the OP. He doesn't necessarily have to code anything other than copy and paste the code he created in Aweber, if he decides to use this. That way....

I don not believe that just taking your aweber html form and putting na wp page is the easier way for someone asking the how .

For doing that you need to know how to get your wordpress blog/site done or some plugins (paid ones).

He is not asking for a landing page, he wants a squeeze page , he is a member from 2006, give some credit to him.

And he stills will need some training. And that requires time, is nos so easy as you said if you have not done before. Not for someone who is asking these question as everybody did when were starting.

Your point is that you would do all that for free, go ahead, man.

And again, I do not think he is only asking how to select/copy the raw html or javascript code and putting inside ....what?

He needs the squeeze page , and I can bet that when he asked he wanted to know how to get the entire squeeze page where he can put some catchy headline and fullfill the content to get the customer leave his email.

Michael, even a quick form-to-email script may be overkill.

Back in the day, before aweber and its kine, we used to simply set up an email address with a vacation responder. Someone wants the info, they send one email, they get one message back. No messing with confirmed opt-ins, etc.

        You're right, John.

Another totally viable, no-cost solution if the OP has no need to collect email addresses and follow up.

I made it as basic as possible and to strip away a lot of the jargon.

Hope this helps. Just click on this link and it will take you straight there: Work From Home Formula
      Thanks! Really appreciate it.

I recommend learning from iContact or Imnica Mail... they have great tutorials on how to set this up and use and autoresponder. This is vital to your online sales success!
