So I wrote an epicly long post...

Just updated my blog with an epicly long post. "Pillar articles" as what I have learnt and been taught. Friends have been telling me I NEED to write an epicly long post to really get things going and add value to my readers.

So what can I do to really make this work? Can someone suggest how I can actually promote the post hence my blog?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

create a relationship with the leaders in your market.

When they create a new blog post add a valuable comment, tweet it & like it on facebook. Then you also get a link back from an authority site, and slowly but surely good things will start to happen.

You should also consider writing pillar content for other established blogs?

Overall a good blog won't grow overnight just because you wrote a pillar article.

Epic length does not make a blog post a "pillar article". That requires providing epic value. To be fair, most pillar pieces do tend to run several thousand words, though.

A true pillar article will draw links naturally, so you simply need to get the ball rolling. In addition to what Bill (tpw) mentioned, you could approach influential bloggers in your space and simply ask them for their feedback. If you provide 'pillar value', many will happily share their "find" with their audience...

    Okay I'll be honest.

Epicly long posts aren't always of value.

I bet you could write a post that was 5,000 words long and it could be summarized into a paragraph.

That's why Facebook + Twitter + Google are so amazing. Because they go right to the point. There's no fluff.

Think about that when you are writing

if you will posting any long content ensure it well and short paragraph ,constructive .
the major purpose of blog is to serve some kind of update for any reader in a short content ,so i advice posting a short content that nail the idea you are puting across .cos that is what search engine wants
