Confused on How to Set Up a Membership Site. Need your suggestions! :)

Hey guys,

I need your suggestions on this one. I'm thinking of building a free membership site where I plan to add in tutorial videos and other contents as well. I'm not really sure how to explain this but have you guys tried using Tissa Godavitarne's ACME People Search or Brian Bear's Bear Marketing System before? I wanna create something similar to those, where the registration for the membership is free but I'll be earning commissions through various other 3rd party affiliate programs that I will be promoting from within the membership site itself.

Also, I want those who registers to my site to also earn the same way from within the site but with their affiliate links instead. So this way, in order for them to earn their commissions from the 3rd party affiliate programs from inside the membership site, they will be promoting my free membership site.

So, I wanna know what programs or systems can I use for this task?

I'm sorry, I hope you can get an idea of what I'm trying to say here.

Thanks guys.

There are plenty of membership solutions out there. I suggest looking at WordPress Membership Plugin - Membership Script For WordPress Blogs And Regular Web Sites

It may have more than you need right now, but think to the future when you may have several products to offer. It would be nice to have them all available in place. You can do that with DAP.

    Firdaus,

Seems like you have the right idea. You are basically affiliate marketing to make money now and trying to set yourself up as an expert that other people will refer to for this same venture.

I use MLSP. It costs 39.00 dollars a month. It's primary purpose is to provide Affiliate marketing opportunities. They have great squeeze pages and great training.

Generally if you want to be the expert you need to set up your own website. Set up your own autoresponder like Aweber. Build your own list to sell your affiliate programs too...and perhaps eventually sell your own intellectual training products to them as well.

I would suggest using WordPress as the platform...easy to manage...easy to post videos etc...easy to make pages private or password protected.

You really need to define your niche. What are you teaching or selling that people will want to visit your site for? and become members. That is where MLSP comes in. They give you several squeeze pages to use for enticing users with free content. ie. The videos that you want to display...

Check out my link in the sig that explains more about MLSP My Lead System Pro. I have other resource pages as well in my sig. PM me if you have any other questions with which I can help you.

Good luck man! You are on the right track!

You can just use Wordpress, there's a plugin for that

Also, you can use a forum, and make it secrets (There are some plugins for that as well)

Let me know if you didn't find the plugins I can search that for you, or if you have any questions feel free to ask

I use the s2member plugin on my new membership site and seems to work fine + its free.
Don't go for the $50 Sitemanpro plugin, if you have a problem there is no support.

We're looking into adding a membership area on CopyClique. I'll look into a couple of the free WP plugins that were mentioned.

Do any of the posters who said they were starting a membership site have any good news updates (or warnings!) to add to this thread?

    Thanks.
