Do you use Facebook fan pages?

I'm just wondering how many people out there are using fan pages.

I've seen some great results money wise + traffic wise using fan pages and want to know your thoughts

So are you using fan pages? And if you aren't, will you consider it?

Yes, I am using fan pages. Not only does it get immediate traffic but I've "met" some great people on them. :-)

My opinion is if you are not on the social networking sites for yourself and your businesses, you are really missing out, especially when it is SO easy to do and FREE!

I never make my sights fancy at all, I just put them up, get fans and interact with them.

Justin, I agree 100% with TopKat.

They are a great source of traffic and in building long lasting relationships. I have had two 'practice' Fan Pages which worked quite well and the people I met from them are now good buddies on FB.

If you have an online business, then I fully support a Facebook Fan Page. They are free, very easy to build and you can have an optin too. A great way to network and drive people to your blog/site.

      Go for it, mate!

Yes. I use it for CPA offers. Basically, I make the fan page, drive traffic to it through Facebook ads, and promote CPA offers through status updates which direct the fan to a static iframe tab with a picture that directs to a CPA offer.

I've been using fan pages to generate traffic over the past month or so. I have had pretty decent success and quadrupled my money on one fan page so far. You have to be creative with your promotions though. Facebook users don't really care for spammy links and I've seen the most success by far with creating my own landers to funnel the traffic.

Definitely! If you make the best use of the targeting options on Facebook, it works out to be a good alternative for other PPC's. With the start of iframe fan pages, you can actually work out a lot of good strategies to monetize users who visit your fan page!

I've only started getting into facebook marketing, I targeted a few groups that are targeted to my niche and encouraged them to check one of my sites out..no lie, i only posted like 4-5 posts on different groups and BOOM i saw 100+ visitors on my analytics..that spurred me on to creating a fan page..now for the next few weeks im going to try and drive potential fans to my page then once you got a targeted base of fans (your fans ) you got yourself potential profits....providing you keep them engaged with useful content and what not .

I need to read more into facebook ads though...i've heard alot of good things about facebook ad campaigns...

I suggest if anything, just create a Facebook page.

You can say that your other projects are keeping you busy, but I bet you have 5 minutes to devote to Facebook everyday to test it out

Just posting up a link won't do much ... you might get the odd like.

You need to engage with them - i try and post 2 or 3 times a day (aswell as the posts that auto go up from my blog). I'll ask questions involving my niche, or throw up a random image or share something. I speak to them like i speak to my friends. Most posts i put up will generally get 20+ replies and / or 30 - 40 + likes. But it took time...

A good analogy is the party analogy.

You walk into a party and shout out randomly ‘hey come check out my amazing something’ and walk out the room – do you think anyone is going to follow you out the room or come ask you anything or speak to you?

      Nope...

But if you walked in and said something to someone and stayed put and listened and started interacting with other people you’ll build relationships and next time you have something to say or want to show people something they will listen and answer back.

Just chuck stuff up there! Ask questions, post interesting stuff – talk to people not just shout at them!

Yep, Facebook fan pages are a must for any site. There is so much traffic on FB that you would be daft to ignore it.

It is so easy and great to do, just set up a page, market it to people you know and then pay for some adverts on FB to get some traffic and this will multiply as people join all their friends see it on their feed and you would hope some are interested in the same things so boom it just starts to hit lots of people and grow virally within FB.

It is important to get the page just right before launch otherwise it could fall flat.

Hell, my 12 yo sister in law set up a page and got over 100k natural likes/fans without any money or advertising. If she can then so can you!!

@Zonkow, I use the page to lead people into my websites.

    BUT, don't spam your fans.

Be real. Sometimes post pictures, videos, and sometimes just post comments with nothing but the comment itself.

If you post links every single time it can get spammy fast.

Have been using Facebook Fan Pages for two of my offline clients and have seen some success already.

I have set up a customized tab for them as a Welcome page to increase their like to the page, have monetized the thumbnail photostream on the page, and included a large profile image which attracts attention and gives a call to action.

Have found that it helps to be posting content at least twice a day to engage visitors, and asking questions makes it easier for them to engage.

I think this method does work but you have to understand how to do it correctly and keep up with the constant improvements being added by Facebook.

It is well worth the investment in time as it is a free resource.

      Thanks

    I love FB fan pages.

You have to really integrate well into the social media business model in order to capitalize on them though. Otherwise it's really a novelty. Facebook is different from other forms of monetization.

People are there to SOCIALIZE and read interesting things, not buy your stuff.

I have 2 fanpages, and I am getting traffic to my squeeze page. If you have website building skills, you can do it yourself, but hiring someone for a reasonable price is what I did. I like the suggestion of posting 2-3 times a day. I thought I was overdoing it with once a day.
