Hey Kom-

I'm curious- do you really live in Florida? If so- are you going to school or have you looked into English classes?

I ask because your spelling, grammar, and punctuation are all a bit off. Not completely bad- I think most of us understand what you're saying, but still need a bit of work.

The thing is, you can't learn how to be a good writer unless you know these things. Once you learn the basics you'll be able to practice your writng and study the more advanced kind of stuff.

There may also be some good online courses, I've never looked into it to know what's good though.

You need to speak with an English speaking person on a daily basis, maybe someone on the Warrior Forum can work with you on your product? JV perhaps and translation for you into good English copy writing, give it some thought, members are usually very helpful to fellow WF members

I live in florida , I am bartender and also server, I been around the world, And I spoke english every single time, Broken english probably...!

This is the thing, Speak about understand people , include body langguage and you can ask the person if you dont understand but , writing is just like that what ever you read that what you think? Am I right.

you should take some English course. or read grammar books it will help you lot. try to write every day 1 page story or anything related to you or your work.

*Not to exercise my inner demon here, but hearing another non-English speaking poster chiming in to attack the OP almost had me pissing my pants.

I have read several of your threads, and can respect your will to achieve better writing, and in speaking English, as it's clearly not your 1st language.

A couple options that crossed my mind were, write in your native tongue, and translate it to English. This may not be an option as you state; you want to write better in English.

For now, have someone re-write your articles, and website content, until you can perfect it, which takes time, even for some of us who use it as a 1st an ONLY language.:p

Finally, I don't know if it's cheap, but Rosetta Stone seems to be an option as well.

If I wasn't busy trying to save my own butt, I'd rewrite your articles, so I am sure someone here would be willing to do the same.

One of the fastest ways to learn any language (english for you) is to read something you are interested in, in the language you are working on learning better.

If you are interested in comics, read comics in english.

If you are interested in learning martial arts, read a guide that teaches you martial arts.

I also recommend the Pimsleur program to learn faster. It basically starts with conversational and can go more advanced depending on the language you are learning from.

I would not recommend Rosetta stone because, it's a 1 shop stop for everyone, meaning they only teach you in the language you are learning. So if you are learning spanish, they only teach in spanish.

Pimsleur can teach you english from many other languages making it a lot easier to grasp and faster.

The thing is I can not believe some People speak english (perfect writing ) Can not write his own Article, Ehmm... what wrong with That...Braind..Not working ?

I can make my article, I pass enzine 2 time, now since I am back to learn more english writing I am mass up everything?....every single I write is mean diferent. I feel make Mistake -Mistake and Mistake.

I create a blog and I make money from adsense $1 to $5 dolar a day with my poor langguage, How about that !

My blog just less then two month old traffic 100 unique visitor a day (ofcourse with someone help me to reviews my article little bit, I dont want depending on them) my dream, I can write my article by my self and talk about what ever I want !

When it comes to learning a foreign language, immersion is key as well as interaction. Speaking English daily and conversationally will help you learn to speak it as well as write it better. Also practice writing stories, chat online (believe it or not that can really help), watch TV

While those suggestions are fine, what you really need is a qualified ESL [English as a Second Language] teacher - and in a face-to-face environment. Books, CDs, or online courses are useful as secondary resources, and especially when you're building your working vocabulary and reading speed and comprehension.

As far as "reading" well written English, stick with the major newspapers and magazines online, not forums, blogs, social media, or e-mail lists (which tend to imitate what they hear, and is more informal than the standard business English you'll need for writing well and getting paid for it).

In the meantime, you can help yourself by going into your configuration here at the WF to enable the enhanced interface which is a full-featured WYSIWYG editor with a decent spellcheck: click on 'User CP' at the left of the navigation back near the top of this page, then 'Edit Options' and scroll down to the last section on that page 'Miscellaneous Options.' This does not correct spelling errors, but it does alert you when you misspell a word by underlining in red.

Now this might be a bit of stretch, but I'm seriously wondering whether Dragon Naturally Speaking might be just the solution you need - if you're spoken English is significantly better than your writing skills would indicate. They've been advertising quite heavily on TV lately; the standard edition is around US$75 but I would recommend the premium edition if you think you might be using the recording feature often enough to warrant doubling the price. (It does a great job handling regional accents, but I don't know how well it might work with yours.)

Many good suggestions that also applicable for me . I live in a country where I hardly get chance to speak English . I am so afraid with my writing that I even do not try to write for my sites . I have to get help from professional writers from English speaking countries.

I find it amusing and cruel (not in a bad way! ... just a .. funny way) that people write HUGE paragraph-long posts in a thread about poor English comprehension... hehe.

It's like asking a dyslexic person to read a bunch of big, complex words REALLY fast.

You Can see how hard I have been tried and I never give up.

I did so many thread and I got kick so many time, I am still standing here in warrior forum.

I am not afraid to write even with my poor writing english,

Kom -- actually, you are getting better. I know you are impatient, but you are learning rapidly and it's going to take time, no matter what you do.

Keep on practicing. Here is your OP rewritten for you - please notice the differences. The problems you are having are the same as all people when first learning English - past, present, and future of verbs - articles (a, an, the) - prepositions (of, by, with, at, in, over, and so on) These are hard to learn, so just keep practicing, and when in doubt, have a friend show you the right way to write something.

For right now, just read the two outloud and notice the difference.
Pay attention to the articles (a, an, the,) that come before nouns.
Only capitalize the first word of a sentence and nouns that are names of places or people - such as names of countries (America, American, England, British)
Also - when you are talking about someone doing something right NOW -- you need to add an "ing" to the verb and the word is, am, are, (state of being verbs) in front of the action verb -- like this.
I am running.
She is thinking.
He is complaining.
There are exceptions to these rules, of course, but learn the rules first and then lean the exceptions. You can't learn it all in a week. Sorry.

Again, Kom -- I can see your improvement! When you first came to the forum you made no sense at all. Now you still make some mistakes, but we can tell what you are trying to say, and that is a big improvement. You should be proud to be progressing so fast!

Hi..here my short stories of english

Back to 1987 when I was at middle school, That time I love to learning english, I very easy to undertant english grammar not complete yet, so far, all change when start to happen like this,

My point test always 8-9 point my teacher like the way I am , but the time I dont learn I have surprice test on myclass, I was get 3 point ,my teacher look at me so angry, like tiger look, and since that time my teacher always make a joke with my poin,
she alway mention said " Kom you are always get good point and what happen you let your self get bird ( mean 3 point we call bird point ) one one two time I got it the message. but she keep that all the time every english lesson, make me mad, since that time I am dont like english ( I dont blame her, It was my fall , I follow the message wrong ). and never learn english more deep anymore since that time. just pass the lesson I am ok.

I finish my school for engeneer, 1990 I work at one the populer hotel in Bali "Bali Beach Hotel" if you been to bali you know this hotel. Ihad just 1 years there because I dont like to be engeneer any more, then I went to scholl for a year learn F & B.
the same time I take school I am training in one hotel in "Paradiso bali hotel" as a waiter. Then jump again to the "Ramada Bintang Bali Hotel" for about 6 months also I have part time job at time I was more dream for that job, but it was not best luck for that job if yes I am probably actor in indonesa already.

Time going fast, with all of life changing, 1998 I am out from my country adventure all over the world make some money. now I am end up here florida.

After I know about internet I am search and I am in love with Business Online,

Now I need writing english skill here.

I would suggest talking to English speaking people as much as possible. Maybe the easiest way to do it is through skype or chat rooms or maybe eve MSN messenger.

I'm sure you could find people on the forum willing to chat with you, or maybe even people that wish to learn your native language. So you could both get something out of it, that way you teach and learn from each other.

first of all, it's great that you're honest and seek help! That's the first step.

Apart from the obvious (taking classes) - you have the best learning effects when learning = fun. I'm also not a native speaker, but what has helped me a lot was to watch every movie I could get (DVDs) in English, with subtitles "on". Even if you are talking well enough, if you READ what you HEAR that helps a lot.

Try to study more article and professional blog. You will learn alot about their languages and their writing skill. If would be the best you can learn now how they use attractive subject and smart use of keywords without feel spammy.

I face the problem like you which have poor english , that why i do hire part time english teacher to help me up .

First of all Kom, dump the kid's books and go to an evening class for pronunciation and basic grammar. Don't consider conversation classes yet. It is going to take you a year to get the basics and then you have to read and read good English books.
Google a list of famous English and American writers and then download free books from 'gutenbergproject.com.'
Or buy from abebooks.com (cheaper than most) an old copy of 'The Norton Anthology of Fiction'.This is a book of short stories written by good authors. Good Luck.

Kids books teach simple constructions - which are needed to go further. Of course, you don't want to read kid's books forever - but don't dis them. They are improving his writing rapidly. Of course, you don't want that to be all you read, but they are doing the trick.

I like that your use of verbs is improving. Once you get good at all the verb forms we have, everything else will come a lot easier.

I think you better try to become insurance sales consultant or financial consultant so you will try hard to upgrade your english

Don't worry mate, there will always be a room for improvement.

Although, I still need to do something with my English, let me share you some of the basics. I hope other warriors can correct my English as well if it's necessary.

From what I have seen in your thread post, you are having troubles with the verb, both the action verb (aka main verb) and the linking verb.

If you use these common linking verbs like: am, is, are, was, and were, the main verbs that will follow should always be in the ing form or in the past participle form (form 3).

For example, when you say, "I am speak english but I am Always fail in writing the correct english.", although the right one should be I can speak English, but in relation to what I have shared, am is the linking verb, so the main verb "speak", should be in the ing form of the verb, now you can say, I am speaking English.

More examples:

She is writing her first article.
I am doing fine.
They are giving you lots of wonderful suggestions.

Now this time, linking verb + the past particle form of the main verb

I am told that you are a hardworking person. (tell is the simple form, told is the past participle form)

The ebook is sold for only $5. (sell is the simple form, sold is the past participle form)

If you want to learn how to write the best thing for you to do is to take english classes so you will learn how to speak english and from there you will be able to write good stuff.

You read something and then write the same in your own words. Get somebody to evaluate your writing and every time refine your writing as much as you can. Good Luck... !
