MySpace offers new PPC advertising opportunities!

Hey gang,

Has anyone done any experimentation with the new MySpace
PPC advertising platform?

I just started a new campaign this morning, I will post here

  • I looked into it a few months back.
    For me it doesn't work because it's only US. that can put ads up.

    When researching, I've heard so many complaints about campaigns getting the thumbs down...a lot of restrictions.

    Example: you have to be very careful how you word your ads...you cannot target people that are fat in such a way as to make them feel guilty or insulted.

    Good luck with it and use a killer, clear, and unique image and age demographics for your target market.

      Thanks for the heads up. I actually targeted the weight loss/workout
      market and got approved right away.

      I did try and start a couple other campaigns but found that their
      categories were a bit narrow and I could not find one to fit.

      We'll see how it goes, the rates are pretty reasonable, at least for
      now.

  • Have run a few campaigns in myspace and found their CTR is horrible. The traffic did convert well which surprised me but they seem to have a floor CTR and if you don't meet it they will just stop showing your ads yet we had trouble trying to improve CTR's.

    • How often do they update their stats?

      My campaign has been running for several hours now and still showing zero clicks.

    • I see what you mean by poor CTR.

      1447 impressions, 3 clicks for a CTR of just .21%, sheesh.

      Were you ever able to improve upon these numbers, or is it just how this platform reacts to ads?

  • Takes awhile to go live but stats update quickly and you will start seeing a lot of impressions before any traffic comes.
  • Unfortunately it is only available for us citizens.
  • 6 hours after they took my payment, still not a single impression, strange.

    They are not making a very good first impression here.

  • Sadly, that is probably a good ctr as we averaged about .12%

    Far from my favorite traffic source
