Hi, I am in dilemma to start some web based money making projects. Can you suggest me the best way to start and learn the basics.

1. is it good to start affiliate marketing websites to bring affilate income?

2. Bid for web design projects on freelancer / elance etc.

3. Work as Sales executive to software firm.

I am in USA and working as software devloper and looking for some opportunities that could bring me part time income.

If you know a whole lot about software development, then I would work on some software that is probably not on the market and then sell it to a big company for a lot of money.

Thanks talfighel for your quick reply. My daily job involves working on Java , J2EE , Oracle, SAP frameworks.

Yes, I have experience on Wordpress, SEO etc. I am in dilemma to develop themes on Wordpress etc. As developing on Java / J2EE I Might not be able to sell to big companies.

I can create themes , plug-ins that could be useful for businesses to integrate. Provide SEO Guidance, Facebook marketing etc.

Just wanted to make sure that I go in right direction before jumping onto action part.

Already started some webprojects but failed. Now gathering my courage to move forward in right direction from scratch.

I'd say affiliate marketing because it gives you the best leverage for your time. If you're a freelancer, you're basically trading time for money. Not very smart, especially if you've a full time job.

Why not start with building your own product. That would be a good idea.

It sounds like you have a great deal of experience, so I would start with creating a product that you can sell for an additional income stream. WordPress plugins are good sellers if you create something that offers lots of value to the buyer.

Regardless of how you start, put up a site and build a list. This way you build a real long term asset for your business. Offer valuable information and every so often promote your services and/or affiliate products to your list that will help them and that offer real value.

Don't spend a lot of money except join the War Room on the forum right away. Lots of free information there that is well worth way more than your one time lifetime fee.

You could have a website up and running in a few days and start getting traffic and signups.

I would recommend develop new products and sell them. If it works well for you then you already figured out what is the best for you.

  • I would start with affiliate marketing so you can build your own list and learn the basics. The money is in the list, and you will never get financial freedom by freelance work on elance or something like that.
