Just got laid off, I need your help!

So the inevitable happened.. laid off most likely permanently and now I'm freaking out. As I look for another job I'd like to give online marketing a try. I know there is a lot of free information in this forum and I will be going through it. Only problem is the amount of information makes me scatter brained!

What I have to get started:

Market Samurai
A few marketing courses
Will be hosting with BlueHost
$600
Almost all day while I'm not looking for work.

I have however no real direction. It seems to me $600 will most likely go too fast, might not see anything from all of this.

What would you do with my resources and $600? Thanks in advance.

Please do not waste it on any products, offers or tricks. My advice is to focus on getting a job, and don't enter marketing because you are desperate.

Read the posts here, learn the industry a bit, find what you think is interesting.

    Desperation makes bad decisions.

Hey I am sorry for what happened to you. I have been in internet marketing for one year and to tell you the truth this IM thing so so time consuming. You will not see results overnight. One of the quickest options for you to join CPA networks and work with their Affilaite Managers to make quick money. Also its worth checking out this link:

I saw 22000 views on this thread. Who knows you might get some gold out of it, just my two cents.

I wouldn't try internet marketing without a job, I've been doing it for years, but even I had a job when I started. As stated above, if you have to try it, don't waste any money on products here, join a CPA network, and ask your AM for help. I'd recommend Rocket Dollars, in my sig.

One thing you might try, and I highly recommend this, is start a blog about something that you really like, and friends of yours really like. Then find some products to promote on it occasionally to your friends. It's not going to make you a living, but it will make you a few dollars here and there.

That could eventually grow, and its cheap and gives you something to do also.

    Hey Allen,
I'm sorry to hear about getting laid off, that really is a bummer, I am however glad you came to WF for help.
Some of the best online marketers are on this site, and many of them use tools from a company I recently started affiliating for.

If you are interested in these tools, just take a look at these links, if you like the information you see, purchase them. I recommend using Wordpress strictly because most of our clients have become most successful on WP as opposed to starting a site from scratch.

Thanks for your time, I really hope you find yourself successful during this lay off, hey, think about it, it could be a blessing in disguise, internet marketing could be your calling.

These products in my signature will definitely serve as useful for you, or if you would like more information or some more products available, please feel free to email me.

Do not spend any of your $600. You have some basics already.

    Follow these instructions:
Do keyword research using the free google keyword tool
    https://adwords.google.com/o/Targeti...AS#search.none

Find a niche with over 2500 global monthly searches and low competition.

Get a domain and host it on your account.

Put up a free, high converting squeeze page.

Set up and autoresponder for the opt ins.

Give a lot of value to your customers before promoting to them.

Once in a while promote an affiliate product or something to them that is of high value and good reputation that has been around a while.

Get traffic to your squeeze page.

Search this forum for free traffic methods, there are a lot of them and also

Just join the War Room with a one time lifetime fee and then get
this free traffic generating easy to set up and use software.

    http://www.warriorforum.com/war-room...-networks.html

All those step by step things can be done in a day or two and then getting traffic and getting the site going will be what you focus on.

Once you have that going, add a blog to the same domain as a sub-domain and maybe add some resource pages with other products and services related to your niche or even a store on a separate page.

Nothing fancy. Anyone can do this, even without any prior experienc.e

    Good luck.

I'm with the above posters...your best bet is to find another job.

I've quit my "real" jobs on 2 separate occasions to try and make the leap into full time internet marketing and while I definitely made progress, I eventually ran out of money and had to get a job.

I can also tell you that IM becomes A LOT more fun and A LOT more productive when you have some extra money that you can use to outsource mundane, time-consuming tasks. This is money that a steady job provides.

In lieu of having said money, you'll most likely try to do everything yourself and invariably, indubitably burn out.

    Good luck with everything!

    Sorry to hear that absoluteallen.

    I totally agree with @pacelattin.
    "Desperation makes bad decisions."

There are a lot of Internet marketing materials and courses claiming you can make thousands of dollars in like a week time, but that's not really true...

This area is very competitive so you really need to know what you are doing in the Internet marketing area.

I don't intend to let you down, but it takes time to get some results with the Internet marketing.

As @pacelattin suggested, you can start with a blog you are really passionate about and build a list.

    Hey Allen,

sorry to hear about your job.

My recommendation: Get a "real" job. 600 bucks burn fast, no matter if it's for setting things up or for just surviving the TIME to set things up, and you most likely won't start off from day one (not that you couldn't do it, but that's what statistics say).

With the backing of money coming in from a real job - sure, give IM a try

    Cheers,

    Hey there Allen,

Just like what everyone else is saying.. Try and steady yourself first with a job. Internet marketing.. thanks to all those "make $1000 in one day" offers.. may seem very tempting at first, but it requires a lot of time to digest what you've learnt and even longer to apply that into practice.

This is especially true if your not familiar with how online marketing works.

So, get a job, make sure you can stand on your own two feet. Then slowly dive into internet marketing a little bit at a time. Otherwise, you may end up with even less than you started off with..

Please, please, please dont spend any of that $600. You will need it. My best advice is to find something that you do well and offer a service.

Also, sell whatever you can that you dont need on CL or eBay Classifieds. Dont use eBay if you can since that will cost you money. You are no in survivor mode so find a Gig on CL that you can do and do it. Nothing should be beneathe you. Whatever it takes to survive (that is ethically and morally right) do it. Even if that means selling a bunch of stuff that you dont want to.

Forget about Internet Marketing for a while since the payouts are too slow. Concentrate on selling a service or any mterial goods you have that are worth anything.

It can sometimes be a blessing in disguise when you are forced into a situation and need to think outside the box a bit.

The free time you will undoubtedly have during this period can be put to very good use and there are some genuine ways to make money without spending a fortune .... it can be done, but you will need absolute focus if you are going to be successful.

While I can possibly relate more than some of the others at the moment, I do agree 100% keep your money tucked away, and keep looking for work offline, and treat this like an internship of sort. There's money online, but it's like Tattooing, until you earn your way in with blood, sweat, and tears... chances are money can't help you.

There was a thread the other day that shared a similar tone, and it was person claiming they had $10,000 to get started. Sounds like a lot, but in reality, even if you had $10k and no experience, chances are you're gambling with the odds stacked against you.

Having officially been laid off for roughly 3 weeks myself with several offline trade skills under my belt, and an increasing amount of online skills, I can tell you from experience; unless you've got a 'magic rabbit' tucked away somewhere or a proven recipe for success all set up and ready to go, chances are grim you'll survive by an online income alone before that $600 is gone.

Now, on the other hand... if you have some skills; writing, web design, marketing, SEO, email marketing, copyrighting, programming, or any ONE thing you can offer to do in the meantime, you can make money exchanging your services to others who can benefit from it, and are willing to pay you for your time.

I have been juggling with some pretty sharp knives in all the aforementioned, and I am still looking for work, just in case. Do I want another job...hell "NO".

But I will NOT sacrifice my reputation, nor my business ethics for quick cash either. If you can deliver value online, chances are you'll make it.

I had a plan that by January/February to have my 3-part eBook written, 25 niche sites, 1 authority site, and be "at the ready" to weather the storm with a healthy tax return as back-up.

Unfortunately, the world had a different plan. Honestly, it brought fear to my door, and is forcing me to take action, so all was/is not lost. Seeing your post count, I am assuming your a 'newbie' with little insight as to the amount of work this takes. Here it is 7 months in I have put at least 40-60 hours per week into this, and seriously... I'm just now seeing the BIG picture.

Your title definitely struck a nerve, and I wish you all the best. Hang in there, and if your serious about building an online business, this forum will be there for you when you're ready.

    Take care.

It saddens me when I see someone who has been a member of the forum since March and only has 2 posts. The absolute worse thing anyone can do is wait until they are in desperate mode to come and start asking for advice.

I am guessing that the $600 you have to invest in IM is extra money that you can risk and that you have other money and unemployment benefits to carry you over while you work on your business.

So what I would do is spend all my time looking for a job and take the $600 to outsource content creation. Since you are out of work I would not focus on seo as that can take too long to get making money up to a full time income.

Instead I would focus on something like product creation and attracting affiliates or jv partners and mail to their list.

Thanks to everyone who replied, pretty nice to see so many helpful people in this crazy world.

The majority of posts seemed to tell me to get a job, I already mentioned I am job shopping. Unfortunately in my area, it's pretty dry so jobs aren't plentiful. I do have enough in savings to keep me going for a bit, the $600 was strictly for what I could invest in an online startup.

My whole goal for this thread was to see if there are cheaper ways to get started online. I would like to (while I'm not looking for work) at least jump in, get my feet wet. I never thought I could hurry up the process and make a living online right away due to the job loss.

I have read about internet marketing in my spare time which wasn't much since I worked 12 hr days 6 days a week.

So I figure this might be the best time to jump in with some money in hand with a bit of guidance from those who have been there, learned and are willing to share without throwing a marketing course at me for $999.

I guess I could of been more clear up front but I don't see the point in repeating "get a job" when it has already been said a few times prior just for the sake of posting. I'm not illiterate

There was another thread that just discussed this type of response. First of all, you've been a member since March, as have I. You had all but -0 contributions to this community, but in times of trouble come here seeking advice.

        That's understandable, I guess.

However, there's an undeniable lack of appreciation being shown (in bold) considering "how many" people stepped up and gave you their advice from both an opinionated and experienced 'point of view'.

If you didn't want to hear "get a job" or that didn't resonate well with you, fine. But really, I found this response rather offensive considering "what have you done for others lately?"

Perhaps, you'd be better suited in the WSO section, where people will gladly tell you what you want to hear and spend you're $600 without batting an eyelash!

I'm not illiterate either, and I dissect words very literally. Perhaps, I am reading this wrong, but you asked a question. You got a majority vote, all points to; getting a job.

Again, I feel for your situation, but unless I am illiterate the fact remains, your best bet is a job.

If not, put an add on the "Warrior's for Hire" - or start listing your current online abilities, and maybe then... we can give you some better insight.

Personally, if I were you, I'd visit MeKnowWordPress.com (*Not an affiliate link) and shave a couple months off the learning curve for a one-time $17 investment. *Scan the videos that are included, I think you'll find they cover just about everything you'll need to know to really get started.

And if you're savvy, sign up as an affiliate, and earn 100% commissions promoting it. There's a ton of nuggets on the affiliate page too. I'll help anyone willing to help themselves, but I'd caution against insulting those who contributed to your thread.

Yeah, we're cool. Too say I'm a bit stressed would be an understatement.

I didn't see the post you made at 10:27pm either, as I was writing the one above. Ooops...

You'd be surprised how many people just want the definitive answer to riches, with little or no reciprocating respect here. So, I apologize if I misread that one. If you lurk awhile here you'll see what I mean.

Honestly, I would still caution spending and start by listing things you have knowledge of, or an interest in, as it makes building your first projects easier.

Since you already have MS, keyword research for profitable niches, and a decent domain name would be next on my list. Probably go wiith NameCheap or GoDaddy for the domain.

HostGator seems the overall vote for hosting from what I've seen, and I've had no trouble with them.

You mentioned having little interest in writing articles, but if I were you I'd read all the "article syndication" threads. There are some really great techniques that can get you traffic, avoid Google's unpredictable behavior, and start there.

Next, you'll want to focus on building a list. I use AWeber, first month is $1, it's $19 per month after that. I wouldn't commit to it, until you've got the basics down with domain and hosting though.

Again, look into those videos man, the site looks a bit childish, but I don't know of a more comprehensive step-by-step video course that offers so much for under $20.

Hey, no hard feelings... Sorry, I hadn't had my evening coffee yet!

              -Art
This is the stuff I am looking for, you came through. High five! Appreciate it.

I'm so sorry about your situation. But I also agree that this is a sensible moment and you should not make a quick decision like that. Online marketing is great, but it COST money and A LOT OF TIME to master the skills (at least 5-6 months - my own experience).

If I were you, I would go look for another job first. And meanwhile researching about the RIGHT model of online marketing that fits me. There are many of them, but you should pick ONLY ONE and stick to it.

If you like a structured approach, I suggest you go with the combo of (SEO + affiliate marketing). Very powerful in my opinion (as I'm doing this myself).

Hope it help. Remember, don't make decision based on emotions. It's not that good.

No it's not really an emotional driven interest it's more of a "damn I don't have a job, was working almost 80 hrs a week so I had no time for anything since I help my mother out due to her COPD on the side and I have a nagging girlfriend that I seem to care about".

I do agree with the SEO aspect even thought that seems to be the slowest unless I jump into PPC which I mine as well go gamble at the Erie, PA casino.

Since I have Market Samurai and I've dabbed into it here and there, it's a good tool I thought maybe niche marketing with some small blogs or squeeze page style sites.

I'm just freakin' lost on step 1-100. My mind is everywhere, I feel ADHD with all of this. Everything sounds good, I want to do it all while I do have the time. I know I can't which is why I'm begging for some kind of direction here from all the good people at the forum.

      Appreciate your time man

    My personal opinion:

Keep your money, and learn to market using free traffic methods. There are PLENTY of methods that don't involve spending a dime, but only time, which we all equally share. I would recommend maximizing your time with one particular method and stick to it, instead of trying to do a variety of methods all at once.

Also, I recommend reading this thread:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/mind-war...-12-hours.html

    Or this thread:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-whatever.html

You don't have to spend a lot of money to do either of the above methods!

And avoid the temptation to buy a ton of WSOs to only waste time that could have been better spent producing revenue (by marketing).

Lastly, do whatever it takes to remove your feeling of desperation. Mindset in my opinion is the biggest factor for success in any endeavor. Two people can apply the exact same marketing strategies yet have radically different results, due to mindset.

Here are two simple recommendations to begin shifting it:

    1) Start saying, "wealth, success" to yourself over and over. When you say, "Wealth", what are you holding in mind? If you say, "Dog poop" (especially at the dinner table) what are you holding in mind? lol So just say 'wealth, success' over and over like a mantra, especially right before you sleep and as you wake up. It will force your mind to focus on wealth and success, unlike affirmations which typically don't work due to improper use.

    2) Avoid using any negativity about money or finances, whether it be from your mouth or another person's. Right now you are conditioned to think in terms of lack and limitation. The more you talk negatively about a situation, you are conditioning yourself to stay negative. Thus, by stubbornly refusing to speak negatively or listen to negativity about money, you are retuning your mind to focus on the positive.

In fact, when you feel or think negative about money, interrupt it by saying, "wealth, success" as mentioned above and be persistent at it! As weird as it may seem, it will shift your focus. If you do this for a few days, don't be surprised if you start feeling lighter and more hopeful about your situation. This was my experience, and several of my friends who did it also experienced it as well.

A bit over 2 months ago, I used the above techniques (among some others) when I was $6200 in credit card debt. I also had bills to pay, rent was due in days, and I was stuck in a foreign country, with less than $50. By shifting my mindset, I 'found' a way to come up with the money (and it had nothing to do with borrowing from someone). My debt is now 0.00, my bills are all paid and I'm back in the States. Basically, the positive shift in my mind allowed me to see an opportunity that I wasn't aware of previously. I share this not because I'm somehow special, but rather as a demonstration of what a shift in mindset can do and it doesn't have to be hard.

    Good luck to you!

First off I would try to find another job. If it comes down to it even Micky D's is better then nothing would you not agree?

Once you have a stable income then you can start messing around with IM.

I know everyone has already said this but its kinda a big deal so ill say it again.
Dont make decisions based off emotions. All of economics assumes the firm or individual is acting rationally. That says something huh

  • Great recommendations about getting a job to tide you over. You might consider a temp agency just to bring in money to pay your basic living expenses. Have a plan of what you want to accomplish in IM.

Develop a list of those in the IM circles who have the kind of success you would like to emulate. From there, access some of their free resources in order to learn what you can without too much of a cash outlay.

Budget your money and time effectively. Block out a specific amount of time each day that will be dedicated to building a business online. Do not spend your time checking emails, reading every doggone post on forums or doing anything else that is not directly related to monetizing your business.

As many people have said, you won't have the kind of success you want overnight. It takes vision, commitment, dedication and time. Start with a small success and build from there.

Best of luck in your endeavors.

Oh trust me I have my name in the temps agencies. That's pretty much the only way to get a job anymore around here since they've monopolized job searching. But they take their good ole time getting you one!

I've done everything from computer sales to working in a factory so I'm pretty broad and I learn fast so you could tell me how to spend this $600 on getting started online doing something except writing articles or Fiverr and I will donate an organ to you if you ever need one because you never know!

You're being "reactive", instead of being "proactive"

Sort out your cashflow first, even if that means getting a part time job for now.

If you expect to be making $$$ in a matter of weeks, you're going to be sadly mistaken.

It takes years to learn this business.

Like some members here, my advise to you is also go find a job first and make this IM your part-time venture, the reason is very simple: the money may not come so easily doing this and also you could do this on part-time basis while having a full-time job, so go get a job now!

I would suggest that you take all that free time you have and actually spend it learning about IM or taking definitive action.

I am currently trying to get into IM, but I spend over 13 hours a day to work, and another 7 hours or so sleeping leaving a whooping 4 hours to eat and do everything else. Honestly, the last thing you want to do after a long day's work is do more work, so take advantage of the time you have.

Aside from the "get a job" advice...

It sounds like you don't have much direction on what TYPE of business you want to start. Before you do ANYTHING in IM, you need to know this.

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

      1. Products
      2. Services

      That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

      Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

      1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

      2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

I see someone has already recommended affiliate marketing. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

      3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

      Pick just ONE!

      1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

      2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

      3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

      F -- Follow
      O -- One
      C -- Course
      U -- Until
      S -- Successful

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you're REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (Now it's only $997. :p) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

(In your case, don't invest in this though until you have a JOB!)

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

      Hope this helps!

If you want to make EASY money, write articles for money. You can get tham as low as $3.50 for 500 words, but theres heaps of people who do the same for $5. ($1 per 100 words).

Yes its not going to make you rich, but it will put some money in your pocket.

And you want to abandon all the hard work you put in as soon as you get a job?

This has got to be the most ridiculous thread/question I've ever read!! I haven't ever heard of someone wanting to start a 1-month business. (other than seasonal businesses but that's a different thing entirely).

I think your best bet is to choose one or the other. Job, or business. If you want a job, get a job. If you want to run a business... get a job and save up some more. $600 won't last you through all the education, WSO's, upfront costs and more you need to get started.

Ummm.... I don't think he said anything about quitting the business as soon as he gets a job.

And starting a business and working it part-time while working a full-time job is just SMART. It's exhausting, but it's SMART.

      It's not an either/or thing.

Going through all of your resources and betting the farm on starting a new business while unemployed is foolish. ESPECIALLY if you're not really sure what type of business you want to start in the first place!

Where the heck are you coming from???

Whatever you are an expert in, find forums in that niche, and sell your services. Also, find freelance sites and bid on projects. That's a good way to get started. You can also post ads in Craigslist, etc. All of this is starting your business with virtually no overhead.

Since I have been in your shoes, I know what you are going through. Age in the U.S. is key, if you are young continue your journey to find another job. But consider, once you turn 40, you may need to find other options.

Think about this, when it comes to heath, well being, looks 40 is the new 60, but when it comes to employment 40 is the new 67!

Look at your current skills. Then ask yourself, can you make money with those skills? Then ask yourself, what have I always wanted to do? Can you market yourself to do either?

Here is something else, don't go buying everything that says you can make $$$ in a day, week etc. It takes time, knowledge and a mentor helps - just don't invest in something more than you can afford or have the knowledge to do without doing your homework first.

    I hope this helps,
    Carol

There are a lot of people above who have said to get a job and save your $600 (and they didn't throw a self-serving link in). Those are all people who genuinely want to see you succeed. There were a lot of those types of posts. Follow those people's future posts on here.

There is a $300 difference between your $600 and the $900 discussed in this link but other than that, the stories are fairly similar. MJ DeMarco*|* My Story
Unlike a couple of the unscrupulous ^&*$#*&#'s who posted above, I won't make a cent off of you checking this out. That being said, this is the best book I have ever read (and, I have read a lot).

I quit a great job once to follow my dream. It was the biggest mistake I have made in my 40+ years. I had a family I was responsible for and should have never done that. It all worked out and life is good now but it was pretty bumpy there for awhile. Whatever road you end up going down, I wish you all the best. There is a LOT of great (FREE!) information available to you on here. Make good use of that.

    Best wishes,

I'd also like to add: Take your focus off of making money, which is often driven by an incredible sense of lack.

Focus all your attention on how you can provide a service or sell a product to people who want what you know/have.

The whole 'making money' niche targets people who are 'financially stuck', and so it's tempting for newbies to focus on making money, but in reality the focus should be on providing high quality service (i.e. giving) instead of making money (receiving).

And the Bible says, "It is better to give than to receive". Could it be that it's better to give high quality service so that you can be compensated monetarily than merely trying to receive money (by trying to 'make money)? Obviously this is my interpretation of it, but it works for me So focus your attention on how you can give something of value and be monetarily rewards for your product/service.

If you offering something of value, you are saying to yourself that you aren't stuck in lack/scarcity. If you can offer something, it means you have something of value. By focusing on giving value, it will also help you shift your mindset

Sorry to hear that. Like all warriors i would suggest to find another jog before diving into IM, however, today economical situation is not that good, and finding new job could be a little bit tricky. so if you cant get job fast enough....

I would recommend article marketing stuff, my old friend is full time on this, and living pretty well. It's very easy to get into. Article marketing business is so demanding nowadays, so if you write good articles, you most definitely can make living out of it.

And in a same time look for a new job.

    Best of luck,

    Carlos

Now is the best time to start a business, you were just laid off. Don't wait until you have burned through your savings trying to live.

      THERE ARE NO JOBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's easy to tell someone to get a job. The reality is there are 1000s of applicants for every job opening. Some people have better odds of hitting the MegaMillions, than finding a job.

You must take responsibility for your own future earnings. Yes, it would be easier if you still had a paycheck coming in, but you don't. So what do you do now?

Take 4 hours or more each day, for a week or so, just reading and learning here on WF. Get a spiral notebook to take notes in. You will read many pearls of wisdom, write them down, because you won't remember where you saw them later. Get your post count up past 50 as quickly as possible so that you can PM (private message). Be sure to use the 'Search' feature here on WF, it is one of the best free learning tools you will have, along with Google.

Don't buy any WSOs until you have a good understanding of the various ways you can make money online. There are certain things that, as a newbie, you should probably stay away from until you get experience, because these methods can cost you lots of money.

Find out free ways to drive traffic, find free online tools -- openoffice.org(similar to MS suite, you can easily convert document to PDF), GIMP(similar to photoshop) and many others. Learn about outsourcing. By finding the freebies first, you can then decide on the most effective ways to spend the money you do have. Be careful of some free stuff, can hurt your computer. Get really good virus and malware software -- Avast and MalwareBytes are pretty good, and free.

There are some great posts on here that give you free methods for making money. Search John Durham, Amir Luis and the post about 'what to do if you're desperate' mentioned earlier in this thread.

Remember, you can do internet marketing without a lot of money, but it will cost you a whole lot of time. It can be done!!! Right now just dedicate yourself to learning, then choose 1 method, that's right just one method to work, then work it. Most people make the mistake of jumping from method to method, without ever really putting the whole effort into making just one work.

Only you will be able to determine the right methods for you, some people fail miserably at a method, while someone else gets rich at that same method. Only you know your strengths and weaknesses. Build on your strengths.

      You Can Do This!

      Now is the time.

I wish you much success and I'm cheering you on.

Here's what I would do. Save that money back for bills. Go get you an account set up on text broker. (not an affiliate) It won't get you rich, but it will get you some money coming in every week at least. Then you spend your free time learning about your long term goals online. There's a lot of great systems out there, but most will take a month or two to get your hands on the money. Good luck, hang in there.

Its hard to do what you are trying to do. IM industry is like a gamble, we can lose everything in one google update and you can win a lot too. But if you are desperate you will fail miserable and lose even more money.
