Is it Possible to Change YouTube Account Username?

I set up my first YouTube account very quickly, and did not name it exactly how I want it now. It's a minor change, but it's important to me.

Google searches indicate that you cannot. One suggestion was to make a new YouTube account. The original accout is tied to the GMail account I want to use for the new YouTube account, and I don't want to use another email account.

Is there any way to do this?

    Yes (as in your username for sign in purposes) ... but, as YouTube is now linked to Google, it will also change your username on other Google accounts, such as Adwords.

    At least I think that is what it was doing when I tried a few months ago:confused:. I decided to leave it alone in the end.

      Not sure if the method has changed since I tried before, but the only way I can see to do it now is to change your Google username (email), but you can do that from a link within your YouTube account.

      Go to Account Settings

      then choose 'Email Options', which tells you your Current Email Address and then goes on to say "You signed in via Google, so you should click here to change your Google email".

      Well it does for me anyway!
