Amazon Product Images

8 replies
Does anyone know how i can get amazon product images without breaking their rules. I write reviews and embed the link code but that just creates a small box with tiny image and price etc. Seems like a grey area as i've read people saying they can use amazons own images, others say no.
Help please! :confused:

    I use a plugin called Easy Azon. It pulls in just the image (in choice of several sizes) or will add an affiliate link or boxed ad. Just click where you want it and it will insert. Sure beats doing it by hand.

      Yeah, I use a plugin too - just because it's easier.

      But here's another way of doing it:

      When you copy the image code from the Amazon HTML code for the image, in that code you will see this:

      Format=_SL160

      The letter "S" that I have made bold is what controls the size of the image.

      S= small
      M= medium
      L = large

      Change that letter S to M or L for a much larger and high quality image.

        Thanks. But is it allowed to link to their images? Or did you mean something else. My link has no format=xxxx code anywhere!

          Yeah, it only works if you select "image only" and use the HTML code instead of the iFrame code that is given if you want to use the title and price info. The method that I used above only works when you just use Amazon images.

          The best thing to do is to use a plugin that makes use of Amazon's API and you can have better control over the size of the product image - I don't think that Amazon make their standard system very customization for affiliates. I use EasyAzon.

    You get them from the product review page. Read the operating agreement, it's ok to use product images for promotional purposes.

    You can also try using royalty free stock images.
    Although I simply use the Amazon images, and
    resize them.

    You are free to use and link to Amazon images to promote Amazon product sales. As long as they make their cut, you are good to go.

    Appreciate your input NathanDevlin. That helped me out. Thanks!
