Thanks all - traffic steadily increasing

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to thank you all for the great resources and info that are here on the forum... Although I have not been very active, I have received some valuable information and hope to give back to the community as I work toward future goals and projects.

Just wanted to show a screenshot of my website traffic for my first niche site - it's been developing quite nicely and has started to earn me a few extra dollars so far (enough to pay for hosting and the domain!)

I'm hoping that the site continues to climb in rankings (and earnings) and that I am able to implement some more ways of monetization for the site, as well as keeping up by adding new relevant related content.

In any event, thank you all - I truly do appreciate everything!

    That's impressive. Don't give up. Double your effort . I'll advice you concentrate on this and take it up before jumping for something else if necessary. You may start seeing a downward curve if you start spreading your efforts.

  • As Joe said, don't try to spread things out to early, take what's working and scale that up. Double your efforts in what is working, ignore what's not working.

    While it doesn't hurt to try something new if a method has failed the first time, just don't keep fighting a losing battle. That's something I did early on and wasted a lot of time trying to make a losing proposition turn the corner and work out. Sometimes it's better just to move on.

    • Thanks all! Although it has been 6 months since I launched my first site, I understand that learning is really the true "GIFT" to take away from this (at this point) - and that it does take time to learn, and lots of it at that! In fact, I really didn't see any results until I started to ramp up taking action in October - since then traffic has been DOUBLING every week.

      My focus was on creating quality content and resources. I culminated over 90+ pages of writing - mostly by myself, on a specific niche topic. Although I may have had a "lofty" goal for the keyword I chose, I am now ranking on page 3 of Google for it, but have literally HUNDREDS of long tail keywords that are driving daily traffic to my site.

      Backlinking is something I HATE doing, and am really in need of some help/guidance with. I would like to perhaps outsource some of that work or buy a program/service to help me with this. I feel that this is the one area I am really lacking in, even though I have received some great results thus far without it! I can't imagine how much better I would be doing if I were backlinking more...

      Having learned the lingo and some tricks, I am now comfortable to move forward and am hoping to really ramp things up in the new year. I am taking any profits and reinvesting them into building up my content, focusing on SEO and trying to find a good person or linkbuilding service for backlinking...

    As for backlinking, try getting your articles syndicated onto popular sites in your niche. Submit them to EzineArticles.com once they have been indexed on your own site. Also, contact blog owners and see if they would like to publish a guest post or an already published piece of your content on their site. You could also offer them the chance to publish new content after you have it on your site but before you submit it to EZA.

    • Thanks for the tip! I am actually going to perhaps contact a few other of my twitter followers in my niche to see if they would like to "guest post" on my blog or add something to my niche or post my content on their blog(s)... Good idea!

      As per EZINE - I am already a member and my content is already syndicated on Google - Will I be able to still submit to Ezine or do I have to submit to EZINE prior to me putting them on my blog?

      Thanks for the input - backlinking is just so tedious and time consuming.... It's a bummer to me and is NOT fun!
