I need some startup Help/Advice!

Hey Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and to the startup game. I'd like advice and feedback on a new web and mobile platform I'm just finishing up development on. I'm new so I can't post a web link but google THE FOUR FINDER to see the beta site.

Here's my basic pitch:

The web and mobile platform bridges the gap between multitudes of "Missed Connections" all over the world. We implemented a sleek interface and hip concept to ensure that social media users all over the map never have a missed connection ever again. The Four Finder is the first true social media middle man.

We solve a key problem that all the other "missing connection" sites out there have. They all rely on the slim chances that people will randomly find their site and read a post that someone made about them without their even knowing it. We created a concept around a hand signal to alert people so that missing connections become a thing of the past.

Think about the hundreds of people you make eye contact with each month that you'll never end up talking to or seeing ever again. Imagine all the potential friendships, business partnerships, and romances that could come out of that if you got in touch with even a handful of those people.

1. Make Eye Contact with Someone you're not going to talk to
2. Flash the Four
3. Add a Marker
4. Find your Four and link up

Example:

John is walking down the street, he's on his way to a meeting and see's a stranger named Jane walking out of a building across the street. Although John wants to stop and strike up a conversation with this lady, neither of them have the time to stop and chat. They make eye contact; John puts up 4 fingers, smiles, and continues on with his business. That hand signal lets Jane know that when she gets back to her office or her home later on, that she can go onto The Four Finder, and search for the location the four was "flashed" to her. She finds Johns marker, with a picture to prove it was him, and can then either comment directly on his marker or link to each others linkedin, facebook, twitter, or any other means of social media they belong to.

I've started talking to Investors and some other companies about acquisitions but honestly I'm completely new to this game so any feedback, direction, help, collaborations, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

Joe

Wow this is some new age type of thinking here. This is social integration in a futuristic sense. I think that the way to connect should be through smart phones since that is where we are headed with technology. Facebook should be at the core of it because they have over 800 million members. Interesting concept that sounds like you are dead set in manifesting. I would like for that to be happening right now in the "real world."

I think it could be cool. I agree that it should link with facebook though. I don't need yet another social network to keep track of.

Interesting concept. Since your whole premise is based off of a hand gesture, then I would suggest piggybacking off of the major social networks and then focus in on major cities. If it becomes really popular in New York City, or Washington DC, then you can leverage that. But you will need massive exposure for this to have some legs and really be effective.

    Good luck!

Good thoughts. How would you suggest advertising and getting the word out?
