Dumb question but could having WarriorPlus Affiliates backfire on you in anyway ???

Hope you understand the reasoning behind me asking this question. Just want to make sure I understand the pro's and cons of just approving people.

Thanks in advance and apologies in also if this wasn't the perfect place to answer this question. Just thought I would ask a quick question before asking Mike Lantz.

Success,

I really don't see any Pro in just approving someone with out a phone coversation to learn more about who the affilaite is and how they can fit with what you have to offer.

Ok...outline the negatives (if there are any) through approving them without the conversation. Maybe I'm a tad nieve here (which is probably the case when it comes to seasoned WarriorPlus Vets ) but has there been problems in the past with affiliates in terms of why I need to have a formal conversation with them.

Again...please excuse my lack of knowledge as I'm probably missing something here.

      Thanks again,

I do a little WP affiliate marketing to my list. I've been approved and i've been denied for promoting stuff. I really dont see the "con" to approving pretty much everyone who asks to promote your offer except that your clickthru ratios may be a little off. Either way, theres still a chance that whoever promotes your product will bring you at least 1 sale.

Pro - Potential for more sales
Con - potential to bring your conversion rates down....

    Thats my best guess..

I have only released one WSO and I was amazed at the number of people that requested to be an affiliate who had zero posts and zero activity on the forum.

The issue I see is conversion percentage. If you have affiliates that are spamming out links, it may drive traffic, but can bring your conversion rate way down. If you are looking to get some guys with big lists promoting your offer, they will look at conversion percentage. If you are 1-5% most will move on. If you can get 10%-20% or even greater conversion percentages, you may attract some big lists.

One strategy I have heard mentioned is to be selective with your affiliates for the first few days when trying to attract some big affiliate marketers. After a few days, most of the big guys will either have promoted it or chosen not too, then you can open it up to other affiliates.

The other stat to consider is refund rate. Unscrupulous affiliates who are spamming lists may have lower quality buyers which may result in a higher refund rate, this jeopardizing getting other affiliates or even risking a Paypal slap due to high refund rate.

There is the risk of an affiliate buying your product, collecting a commission, then refunding. Good discussion here:

You would think WarriorPlus has a system in place to stop this.

        Thoughts?

As a few others have pointed out, I think the primary concern of auto-approving everyone is the potentially negative effect that it could have on your conversion rate. All it takes is one shady affiliate (or competitor) to spam your offer to a bunch of worthless safelists, and your conversion rate is in the toilet. And after that happens, some of your legitimate affiliates may not want to promote you.

You might have someone who does indeed promote your product but doesn't give a refund if one is requested.

Or, as mentioned, it could harm your conversion rates/EPCs which then makes fewer good quality affiliates want to promote for you.
