Correct way of using RSS news snippets on your homepage ...

I have recently applied a module to my joomla site that allows a dog news feed at the base of all the pages.
I have included this so that google sees each page modified when it returns which in theory has it rank me slightly better.
So the question I put to this forum, is do you not include the news snippet description (just the title) so that it doesnt mess with your on page keyword density ... and does it matter too much if the module allows DO FOLLOW links out of your site.
I ask this as I dont know of any module that renders the rss links as NOFOLLOW which is ideal for seo purposes and keeping PR on your site.
Any views or suggestions?
