How in the heck do you create a screen capture video (avi) that you can upload to Youtube that is not extremely big as far as memory goes?

Here's what I've been trying:

I have CamstudioPro and I've tried different settings in the Recorder to see if they affect the file size that much. I've used the Microsoft Video 1 Codec and the Camstudio Lossless Codec and they both still produce big .avi files after only a few minutes of screen capture. I've tried to install and run DivX codec, but it doesn't execute, or run. I don't know if that is a Vista thing or CamstudioPro thing. I'm thinking it's CamstudioPro because there seems to be a lot of things that don't run properly from that software.

I want to do a screen capture of a powerpoint presentation but I can't figure out how to keep the .avi file size down for Youtube. I watch videos like this all of the time on YouTube and people seem to make videos that last 10 minutes. If this is true, they would need to have an .avi file the same length as far as time goes. If I did that my .avi file size would be HUGE!

How are you guys producing a screen capture video (for tutorials, etc...) that lasts around 10 minutes and yet keeping the .avi file size down to the 100 Meg limit that Youtube has so that you can still upload it?

Thanks!

Why don't you just download Camtasia Studio and record it using that?

Also it doesn't have to be a .avi file. WMV works good too.
