I have a question for all you auto blogging experts out there.
Not knowing which direction I should go in terms of how to generate an income online and after reading through many posts and tips here on the forum I finally decided at the end of last year to go into auto blogging. Using a combination of tips from successful auto bloggers here on the forum I created several blogs on the WP and WP MU platform. Most blogs got indexed by Google very quick and I started to get growing organic traffic with around 100 unique visitors a day per blog within 2-4 weeks of launching the sites. With moderate but growing adsense income I thought I am on the way with this strategy.
Now, over night Google decided to drop one of my more successful blogs completely out of their index - not one page including the index page is showing with the site:domain.com search.
My question is, is Google slowly but surely filtering automated blogs out of their index or am I a victim of the so called famous sandbox? Or perhaps is it just bad luck? Has anyone of you auto blogging experts have a similar experience and can shed some light on this for me?
Thanks for your help!

    Hi Jeff,
    Thanks for your quick reply!
I hear you and I thought about the Google adsense footprint as well. My question is how do you monetise auto blogs than? For example using clickbank would leave a footprint as well.

Cloak your affiliate links in your blog using a plugin like GoCodes. No footprint from affiliate links that way.

You may have been sandboxed if the site is new. Just keep building on it, working on backlinks, etc. like you normally would. You should pop out eventually.

Remember, it's not the automated nature of the site that would lead to a penalty, it's the quality of the content. Use automation techniques to build a quality site, and you'll never have a problem.

You can also find products in a variety of places - such as Clickbank, Amazon and Commission Junction- and Google doesn't have access to their records.

          Hi Ivan,
But this would still leave your username/affiliate name in the links - so cloaking is the way around this problem.

        Hi Keith,
Yes you are right - bought Ninja Affiliate plugin a while ago and haven't used it yet
Will have a go at removing adsense (my only income right now ) and plaster the blogs with affiliate links.
How about the Whois registration information? Any chance Google might be looking at footprints there as well or I am getting paranoid?
At the moment I am using Yahoo answers and re-written articles on the blogs ad getting a lot of new comments posted which shows me the content must be right for my visitors.

You can also use multiple Clickbank affiliate IDs, say one for each niche This helps with tracking, whether using cloaked hoplinks or not.
Great tip - thanks for this! I did not know I can use several account with clickbank. Is this against their policy to use several accounts?

Actually, if you check the following page, they reference multiple accounts, without saying anything negative about them, so I've never worried about it:

        FAQ Accounting - ClickBank
Not worth the risk I reckon if you can easily cloak the links. I might just stick with one account for now

    always cloak affiliate links.

I also heard that if you ENABLE adsense google will re-include sites - but i can't confirm this. It might be a rumor, but worth a try. G wants to make money, so its in their interest if a site with Adsense IS in the index.

I myself didnt have any of my sites de-indexed.

As for as I know the adsense site spider works independently from the normal Google search index spider. Putting up adsense for the first time on a site gets the adsense spider within a hour but only on the pages where the adsense code is - this is to show relevant ads of couse. But than again, who knows what Google is dong behind the sceens. Might have a go at this little trick and see what happens.
      Thanks for the tip!

    Not worth the risk
I dont think there is any risk with having multiple ClickBank nicknames.
In fact, I've written to them when I've added several new nicknames
asking them to pay me via direct deposit just like my other CB
nicknames - and they do. So they know and they're okay with multiple
    CB identities.

Even if you dont get direct deposits from CB, they send checks to
your same physical mailing address, surely. They could correlate
your different accounts if they wanted to.

I don't think Google has a problem with auto blogging if the content is good and informative. Could be that you got sandboxed, or if you go too many months without any incoming links, then the Big G could think it is a site that is put up only for monetization. Always continually build those links with article marketing, blog commenting on do follow blogs and/or with a service like 3 way links.

If you build links, the site should come back. I had a site that was totally jam packed with Directory Generator BS (back in the old days of 2005) The site was getting over 1000 visitors a day for awhile, then bang...totally delisted - for a couple years! But I had lots of articles working and links pointing to the site and now it ranks very high for its keywords. So Google does have some mercy if you hang in there and give them what they want.
