When should I expect my first payment from subscribers' list?

I know it's a little stupid question. But actually, I already made almost around $1600 without list in affiliate marketing. Now, this is the first time I am building subscribers' list.

I asked this question because, while reading the old posts, I found out that most of the member started earning from their list after 3 to 4 months. Is it not possible to earn from the first month?

Let's suppose if somehow I manage to get 1000 subscribers within a week then is it possible to expect your first payment in the first month? and how much should I expect?

And, I am trying to build list through YouTube. YouTube Traffic is Valuable??

I know I should try first but I am just curious to know about this.

You might try to earn from your list the moment you build it. But it all depends on your sales funnel. The simplest one looks like this:

squeeze page => thank you page => download page

You collect the addresses on squeeze page (obvious)
On the "thank you" page you put something like this:
"A confirmation e-mail with "[XXXX] Please confirm your download" in the subject line was sent to the e-mail address provided. It should arrive in about 10 minutes. In that time, please have a look at these great offers" (The [XXXX] is a kind of branding, I usually put the acronym of the list/product/or just my initials so they know what to look for and recognize further e-mails as coming from you)
And you put a few affiliate offers under the text.
If they buy anything, you may want to set up another squeeze page, like "register your product please". Why? To segment your list into buyers and non-buyers right on the start.

The "thank you" page with the "time buffer" serves two purposes. One is of course to present the offers and make sales. The other is not to send the subscriber to their e-mail box at once. Why? Sometimes the confirmation e-mail takes some time to get there. If by that time they get any other e-mail, they get distracted and may not even remember signing to your list, and they'll never confirm. This way you tell them to wait some time.

And how to divide your list into buyers and non-buyers when they register? By setting two lists, e.g. LIST-A, and LIST-B where LIST-B is the buyers' list. I usually use the same name but add VIP for LIST-B. Then you go to Aweber's (if you use it) automation while working with LIST-A and select "Unsubscribe when the lead subscribes to LIST-B" (or something like that, I don't remember exactly, but you'll see it once you find "Automation").

This way you stand a good chance to sell a few affilate offers at once and have your list divided into buyers and non-buyers, and send them messages accordingly

That's helpful. So it means it's very possible to start earning from the first month...

And what about YouTube traffic? Is it valuable?

There are 4 factors to consider (at least):
        1. How well targeted your videos are (what keywords have you used, for example)
        2. How much competition is there.
        3. How attractive are your videos.
        4. How attractive the offer itself is (it does not matter that you offer something for free, it must be - or at least LOOK - attractive enough to make people enter their e-mail; squeeze page itself too).

You might want to try to rank your videos higher by buying social bookmarking gigs on Fiverr, but I don't know if it helps much.

You can earn as soon as you have a few hundred subscribers. Hit them with smaller offers first and keep it relevant to the reason they signed up in the first place.

You can earn with one person on your list. Why would you tell him that he needs a few hundred?

You really shouldn't suppose anything. You first need to strike up a relationship with your list before actually milking it for money and expecting an income. That's a sure fire way to lose more subscribers than you gain.

Send the list informative information related to what they signed up for. Interact with them and then build a relationship with them. Occasionally sending out an affiliate offer or promotion.

Your list isn't your own personal ATM machine -- although it can be.

Robert gave you an excellent method for developing a list, and making an income from it.

Chris (OP), you said: "Let's suppose if somehow I manage to get 1000 subscribers within a week then is it possible to expect your first payment in the first month? and how much should I expect?"

It's not as simple as 1000 subscribers equals a certain number of dollars, because lists are built in different ways.

You may have a list of people who subscribed to get a freebie. You may have another list of people who've bought a $7 product from you... Lists are built in various ways.

You'll hear of marketers discussing "subscriber value". These marketers have worked out that each list member is worth a dollar a month, let's say. they then base their advertising on that figure. At a certain point, it's all about the numbers.

Before you create a list, do a little thinking about:

    * How you'll get subscribers;

    * Why subscribers should be on your list -- what value can they expect from you?

    * What your subscribers really want, and need;

    * How much time you have to devote to a list. Every list will take time to both build, and to serve. You'll need to communicate with your list regularly, otherwise they will forget that they subscribed, and will scream "spam!" when you communicate with them.

There's a lot of trust involved with building a list. Your subscribers give you their contact details. If you're lucky, they'll give you the address of an email account to which they actually pay attention.

If you don't abuse your subscribers' trust, you'll make money.

In brief, you get out of a list what you're willing to put into it.

That's the most often neglected truth about list building. And it takes time to build the relationship.

Ya jeff. You are completely right. I actually have good idea about this. And I am trying my best to deliver the quality content. But, I's just not so sure about YouTube traffic, valuable or not.

And is it possible to start earning in your very first month.

Thank You Angela. Excellent advice. Just one question. How often I need to communicate with my list??

      Once a week is enough?
