Why My site vanishes- it shows a blank page?

I experienced something today that I really dont understand how it wokrs.

A few minutes ago, I went to check on my blog and when I put in my url, it just gave me blank page with nothing on it.

Same thing happened when I tried to log in from admin page. I type in admin log in url and it just shows nothing.

Anybody has any idea whats happening? Is it something with the host? Perhaps its busy and can not load the sites or something like that?...

I really have no idea. I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

lots of things could be happening. it could be something with your hosting, something with your cms or wordpress if you use that. your site could have been hacked. or it may be that you inadvertently deleted something very important.

can you login using cpanel and look at your files via the file manager?

    whats the url?

if you were suspended, your host should show a suspended page.

If you are over bandwidth, your host should show an over bandwidth error.

Since neither of those is happening, I would suggest for you to clean your cache, reboot your machine and try again.

If it continues the same, then contact your hosting company.

Your site may have been hacked and had the .htaccess file changed. That could conceivably cause the issue you are having now.

The url is www.blogstash.com and yes I do use WP. And I know I didn't delete anything for the past few days. I explained more below...

Thank you both for your help. I think I didn't explain the situation very well. This just continued for a few minutes. After that, everything was back to normal.
the site is back, but I was just wond4ring what might have caused the issue.

My question is, if the site was hacked an something was chnaged in .htaccess file, would I be still able to see the site as normal and logging to my dashboard, because now I can and everything is normal. The issue lasted for only a few minutes.

Also, what should I be looking for, if in case somebody hacked into it and i dont know, maybe change something or what not? And how do I fix it if thats the case?...

      Thank you guys in advance.

This has, on numerous occasions, worked wonders for me. Clearing your cache, sometimes cookies & history, then rebooting, seems to resolve a lot of strange behaviors that are otherwise unexplainable.

I did not seem to have any issues getting to your site, so either the issue has been resolved, or the issue was central to your PC only, or both.

sounds like just a temporary internet error that could have been anywhere in the "internet pipeline" from you house to the data center your hosting company uses. things like that happen, and they are usually nothing to be overly alarmed about unless that start happening a lot.

if you are on a shared hosting account, and some site was really busy for a 5 min time frame, it may have caused others on the servers some very temporary issues.

at any rate, i sure would not lose sleep over it, but do be keep an eye on it.

Thanks David. I just never seen anything like that and the wired thing was that I could see any other site. Every other site would load normal, but my own.

In any case, I changed my password and am looking to beef up security (maybe a security plugin or something like that). Any suggestion would be appreciated .

Thank you very much for taking time to help out David.

a page that says suspend is usually done by your hosting provider. you usually get this for either overusing resources or more commonly missing a payment.

Who is your hosting provider? Most hosts have a separate server for their MySQL (this is what keeps all of the data about your blog) and it is very often overloaded on shared hosting, this is especially true if you are checking during peak Internet hours (something like 5 PM to 10 PM) I bet you just have a typical cheap shared hosting deal... if this becomes a real issue get a good shared host (like icdsoft) and see if you have the same problem...

It works for me! Maybe clearing your cache should help? Or checking firewall or antivirus protection may help too to make sure nothing is blocking the site. Are you able to ping your site and you get reply?

That had happened to my WP Blog once. I had a huge surge of traffic & there was nothing but white screen shown. A few of my twitter "followers" let me know it was happening. Once the traffic died down my site was back to normal.

I figured it had something to do with the database's ability to configure the content parts to form a page. But I could be totally wrong. Still ever since I've attempted to do everything within my power to limit the amount of query calls to the DB. Removing non-vital plugins, using better written templates, Squishing images. etc.

Haven't had a huge traffic surge or white screen since so I'm not really sure if that was the problem.
