I need to find a highly skilled iphone app developer

Can you guys point me in the right direction? I have an Idea for an Iphone
App that would be very popular with a particular subniche that I am very familiar with. That being said i'm clueless as to where to start looking other than doing a google search its not a simple app (in theory) but it will sell like crazy for the market that its being developed for. (it's not IM guys and girls!)

If anyone can help me and point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated!

I'd also like to contain the costs as much as possible so any advice in that arena would be appreciated as well!

Thanks!

Elance is a good freelance site. I use it. Others use Odesk and other sites, but I'm not familiar with it and don't know if they have good programmers on there or not.

I say post a job on both odesk and elance and when people respond to your job then you will get a feel for how much the iphone app will cost.

Try and be specific in your job post as to what you want.

From there you will want to cherry pick the programmers with the highest rating and lowest price relatively speaking.

Then interview each one on Skype and pick the right one for the job.

Once you pick a programmer try to explain exactly as to what you want. Maybe show them a power point or some drawings etc...

    Hope this helps,

    Anthony

The freelance sites are a good place to start, make sure to view the freelancer's feedback and past work history to make sure they have experience and professional work ethic.

elancer, freelancer, and odesk. I personally would go with odesk for an app since I believe you can get a pro for less.

In my experience, Odesk bids are typically 10-25% higher than other sites for mobile applications. Usually find the reputation and portfolio of the candidates on the other more specialised sites, such as elance and freelancer, more impressive.

Any of the sites mentioned above are nice. Don't forget to include some type of agreement that assures he won't steal your idea or something.

      Thank you all so much!

Have any of you had an app created using programmers from one of these sites?

If you are looking for "highly-skilled" you better have some pretty deep pockets because "highly skilled" programmers aren't cheap.

if you are thinking of testing the idea, you can do one very quickly by going to appmakr.com. No coding skills required. Do it, release it, see if there is a demand. If there is, then you can invest the big bucks to do a proper one.

If you're looking at a complex app, or have long term plans for it, look for an app development company who can not only do but support it in the future as well. There are many firms that do this, a quick Google search or asking your friends for some recommendations would do.

I know some but they are mostly in India. :-)

Try odesk and onlinejobs.ph. Also, try asking other warrior members, you might find someone who's skilled enough to develop iphone apps. Do a quick search in Google too.
