Advice on new business...

I'm starting a business for myself, doing various internet marketing related services for local businesses. I'm going to offer a variety of things, from creating and maintaining SEO'd webpages to PPC to Youtube videos to building and maintaining autoresponder lists.

I plan to only work with sites I have control over, etc. I will be charging monthly fees for each aspect, with a few possible package deals. What I'm wondering is this:

1) Is there anything else I should look into as far as techniques that might help local small businesses?

and

2) What should I charge for various services, at least up until I have good local references and a proven track record?

These two things have been bugging me, and I'm hoping some more experienced Warriors can point me in the right directions.

Thanks in advance to anyone who responds!

Get to know how Adwords works for local areas. Many people aren't aware that you can geo-target your Google PPC to drive traffic to your site on high competition words from just your local area. You can specify a city, county, state, etc or a radius around an address. People with modems outside that area won't have your ads pop up.

      Adding to that...

If you are in either a tourist or college town, drive around and make a note of the out-of-state plates. This will give you additional places to target.

For example, if you watch the parking lots here in SW Florida, you see tons of plates from New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, etc. I would target those states (or even counties if they're on the plates) if my client served area visitors or seasonal residents.

find out what people need the most. based on whats in demand, you put higher price. video tutorials i know i will be paying more for them, then simply written text toturials. but dont put them on youtube, use another streamer so your vids would be exlusive for members only. get the point?

If you don't have any success proven track records, best thing that you can offer is pay per performance,
make a contract with one local business for a starter, focus on that, once you got testimonial from that company, you're on for a good start.

You have to offer them a detail works that you'd be working on for the site, also a comprehensive report, and the progress of the site in major search engines.

Professionals offering the same service can easily charge for thousands of dollars per month, depends on the quality and result of your works.
