Looking for a website critique. Can you help me out?

Hi all...

Some of you may have seen my new tech review site via other threads. I'm very happy with the design for the most part and I think I'm good with the content.

What say you? How can I make this site into something you could see yourself using any time you need a technical product review in layman's terms?

The site: TD Tech Reviews

Some other pages aren't complete so this is the best example so far.

Life is a song - sing it. Life is a game - play it. Life is a challenge - meet it. Life is a dream - realize it. Life is a sacrifice - offer it. Life is love - enjoy it.

Anyone have thoughts on the content on this particular page? Is it helpful? Do you need more? Less?

I like to see a proper review. To be hones (sorry) yours tells me nothing. It doesn't sound as if you've even seen one, let alone touched or used one so how can you provide an "editorial review" (whatever that is).

I want to know what the keyboard feels like to use. How clear/bright the screen is to look at. How long the battery lasts. How the power supply connects. What connections it has and where they are located. Some real product photos that you took when you were testing it to provide your review.

An editorial review is simply the thoughts of the editor on the given product. Based on your feedback, I'll have to flush out more content.

The gist of the site is to provide readers with insight into what kind of user each product is best suited for (and why) based on its design and specs. Because of this, my team is not required to actually see the product. That said, I'll have to make it more apparent what the goal of the site is. I go over that on our About Us page but if people don't see that, they don't know.

        Thanks for the feedback.

Hey, this looks nice. The only thing that I'm not crazy about is your logo, but I'm not huge fan of red. You might consider matching the color of the text in the logo to the other red items on the page such as the Headlines bar and link text. Hex color codes are as follows:

    Current Logo: #FA0505

    Template items: #D21100

Everything else looks great. Lots of things to draw the eye. Social links. Great start. Best of luck.

It's so funny that you mention that. When I did the logo, I wanted to match but was just too lazy to go in and check the hex codes. Now that someone has mentioned it, I will certainly do that.

There's a rendering issue on Chrome. The grey menu bar is overlapped by the content below it.

The white navbar was a duplicate of the top navbar anyway so I removed it. Chrome seems OK now.

Logos and fonts suck. Change them. Simple white on black, any sans serif font that has impact and authority.

        Hello,

Take what you want - throw away the rest:

        01
Use a logo that is easier to read as the current red looks like a lot of jumbled text.

        02
.com could be smaller if needed to make it easier to read. Most people assume a site is .com so it's a bit obvious. Still making it smaller will make that actual name of the site stand out and not look like a LOT of letters.

        03
        I would separate TD

        03
Try your site in all broswers. In Chrome the top has some items layering over others - I took a screen shot

04 Consider a better way to break up the right column from the main column so it's not so BUSY

05 There are a lot of different colors ad fonts and styles. To improve on design, try to keep it SIMPLE.

Okay - that's my Tew Cents

Are you referring to the homepage or to the product page? The fonts all look very similar to me on the product page. The home page is a different story.

    Hi
I really like the way you had the ratings for "best use, OK use and so on". That would help me if I was buying. The site has a nice clean look to it.

It was hard for me to read your logo...might be my contacts or something....
