Can we use debit card using paypal services?

Hi

I am going to make a account on Fiverr.com.

Here i face a problem.
I have no credit card to put in my billing information to make a paypal account.

Can i use Debit card to make this paypal account for billing information, in Fiverr.

    If your debit card is from the USA then you can. I don't know how it works in other countries.

    It depends on your bank, if they support PayPal or not. For example I can not use debit card (i'm from Estonia) and the only choice for me was to use my credit card to verify my account.

    Of course... you can make paypal account using debit card but it should have VISA logo on your card (VISA verified). I have made my paypal account using my debit card.

      I have VISA logo on my debit card, but I couldn't verify my PayPal account with my debit card. I called my bank and they told me they don't support PayPal and the only choice for me is to use credit card.

      It doesn't matter if you have the VISA logo on your debit card or not, it depends if your bank supports PayPal.

        This is correct. Some Banks are not linked with Paypal. Some allow you to use your Debit Card to pay via Paypal, but not receive. Best is you check with your Bank.

            A word of precaution.

            If your Debit Card is linked to your banking account - current or savings, you're endangering yourself with a lot of online risks. If it is also your ATM card, then it is better to avoid using it for online transactions.

            Alternative.

            Are you able to buy preloaded Visa or Master debit cards off of any local bank counters? The preloaded value is usually $10 and you can load as much as you wish. Some do have max preload value of upto $3,000.

            If the local banks can't help, try Visa or Mastercard offices or international banks in your city of residence.

    Yes, you can use it. I've used my debit card to link my paypal account for all the transaction for over 1 year. Nothing is a problem.

    yes you can. in fact i made it a point to only use debit card on paypal as i top up money before i make a purchase. in case your account's security is compromised, the downside is minimal.

    Thanks for all replies, I really appreciate all of you, who comes and answer my question.

    I see there is another problem with Fiverr.com that, there is No other payment/withdrawal method other than Paypal. Its also problematic for those countries, who are not listed in Paypal.... LIke Pakistan and Egypt.

    Its also a worried situation.

    Is there any other site like Fiverr.com --------> HAVE YOU ANY IDEA ?

    All I use in my paypal account is a debit card, and to be honest I have never had a problem, in fact I bought a couple of gigs from Fiverr with it.

    Richbanks gave the definitive answer. My 2¢ here is this. When my bank was taken over by Chase I moved everything over to 5th 3rd National. (22nd largest bank) They not only support Paypal but I was provided with a separate checking account and debit card (Mastercard Logo) just for Paypal/Ebay/Amazon. My branch manager actually got on the phone with Paypal and verified my account before I left the bank. I can move money online at anytime day or night and pay most of my bills through their site. They were never into sub-prime lending so are not suffering the problems of some of the banks who were. I'm setting up my payment processor through them too.

    Most probably you can not use debit card Paypal is accepting only Credit Cards.
