Would Anyone Buy Thie Domain Name - Seriously or did I do Something Stupid?

Alright guys

I am currently in two minds about selling one of my domain names that I have had for a few years. My first concern is I am not sure if anyone else in the world would actually buy it? Or if I have choosen a very stupid one.

The domain name in question is called Ultimate Resale Giveaway -

I orginally brought that domain name to be able to host a giveaway event type on it. The script that I have currently on it only works with paypal. But I am not allowed to have paypal anymore (long story).

And my cash at the moment is really tight to buy another membership script that will work with something else.. So I might have to sell just the domain name...

Do you think anyone would be interested??

You'll never know if there is any interest until you offer the domain for sale.

IMO, the name is a little confusing. "Resale" and "give-away" seem at odds.

I think your best chance to sell the domain would be to develop the site, get it attracting prospects in a particular niche, hopefully make a few sales, then sell this "working" site to someone who wants a "done for you" business.

    Good luck,

The whole plan of the site was to build a giveaway event. I'm sure you have seen them around where you can download several products that come with private label or resale rights and so on. That is why the word resale and giveaway are in the domain name

I agree. Build it up a bit more and offer it for sale as a ready built business which just needs someone to maintain and expand.

Flippa might be worth a punt.

Hmm should I just scrap the membership idea and build a wordpress site instead? I am trying to find a membership site that I am allowed to pass onto a person

The only way to find out if someone is interested is to actually list it, list the website on flippa or even try to sell here on the WF and that would help you determine if someone wants to buy it.

I find this is a very good saying. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

The domain name doesn't sound totally horrible, I'm sure someone might be interested in it.

Since you can not use the script, can you get the site functioning and sell it with the script and template? Or are you just looking to sell the domain?

Not allowed to pass on the script to somebody else.. If they want the actual script as well they will have to purcahse as licence from the owner of the script

The domain name sounds odd and may be hard to sell on its own. However, you can increase its value if you generate good Pagerank and traffic for some compelling keywords.

It sounds like he just wants to sell the domain. I say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, if you find someone that thinks it will work for his business then he'll pay. Otherwise it's worth 10 bucks...

Someone may have a use for it if you are trying to sell it. You never know what people are interested in.

      my suggestion.

Build out a quick site with a whole bunch of PLR stuff people can giveaway or resale.

      Just a thought.

      Then sell it.

    Byron,

So, every year you've paid around $10 to renew your
domain and year after year you've done nothing at all
    to generate revenue from it?

    You have 3 choices...

    1. Get off your butt and implement your idea.

    2. Take action and offer it for sale.

    3. Do nothing... allow it to expire.

With #1 you'll have to invest quite a lot of time to get
others involved in your giveaway and, to be frank, the
domain name won't be of significance.

With #2 you'll get what the highest bidder is willing to
    pay.

With #3 you'll eliminate the need to procrastinate any
    more. ;-)

If I were to buy your website, I would need to know the amount of traffic it gets daily. Is it on the first page of Google for competitive keywords? Have you ever sold anything from the site?

These are some of the questions that I would ask as a buyer.
