Doubt in syndicating content

Yes, I see ... I use those, myself. I normally submit my whole article, I must say. But I suppose it isn't actually necessary: to be honest, I haven't thought about it much ...

This depends on the terms of service of each one. Unfortunately (unlike "article directories", say, which all effectively have more or less the same TOS on the significant points) they all have their own rules.

At wordpress.com, strictly speaking this isn't allowed at all, because they won't let you use a page there to generate traffic or backlinks, and it runs the risk of being deleted if anyone (a competitor?) ever reports it. Blogspot.com the same, but with less certainty of actually getting it deleted (they're inconsistent and idiosyncratic: sometimes they think such pages are there "for the purpose of generating traffic to another site" and sometimes they don't). And at most sites like Squidoo, HubPages and so on, they won't allow syndicated content anyway, so the question doesn't really arise (i.e. to do it there, you'd have to make the content "unique" and there backlinks are not worth doing that for!). I used to use many of what people call "Web 2.0 sites" as part of my backlinking strategy a couple of years ago, but have long since given up: it's really not worth the time and trouble, for the low value backlinks you get. People imagine that (for example) "because Squidoo is a high-PR site" they must be good, but it doesn't work out that way, typically: it's only Squidoo's own home page that has the high PR, and "your" page there (which of course they can delete or lock any time they like, as well!) doesn't at all. :rolleyes:

I do use PDF directories, but I'm only really interested in article syndication to places/people/sites/ezines that have targeted readers waiting for content. Yes, the backlinks are very good when they're websites (because they're all relevant ones, by definition - otherwise they wouldn't want my content for their readers), but I'm doing it primarily for traffic.
