Template for Posts in WordPress

INTERNET MARKETING

I am building site in WordPress (Thesis) and I'm looking for a way to create a template for posts (not pages).

I was hoping to find a plugin that doesn't require any kind of programming or code alterations needed.

Any recommendations?

I don't know thesis but usually only pages have template options, seems that customizing posts the theme would have to be edited which would effect all posts.

One could hand edit perhaps: Appearances/Editor/Single Post (single.php)

The Simple Post would work, except I need several different templates. I want to add different widgets to the bottom of each post, depending upon the category of the post.

Is there another way to do this instead of having separate templates?

WordPress › WP Post Footer « WordPress Plugins

You'd just build a library of several footers, then insert specific shortcode at the end of the post to insert the selected footer.

I've done the same thing by editing the single.php.

I have an if-then-else for each category that needs a footer. Of course, this is only an option if you're willing/able to dig into the code a bit.

The plugin above is less work up front, but you'll have to add the shortcode to every post. My way is a bit more work up front (not much beyond the learning curve), and it handles it automatically.
