Thread rating

I'm offering a design service on "Warriors for Hire". I haven't got any conflicts with any of the clients so far, all the work I have done is quality work. I have done all the revisions that customers have asked me for and also I have been very communicative.

For last few months I have got 3 "5 Star" ratings, but day before yesterday I suddenly got "1 Star" rating. I immediately contacted Warriorforum Customer Support and asked them to remove this rating and they said me they can't do it, since for that they have to re-index the website database.

So my question is: "What's the point of rating system if anyone can rate ANY thread they would like with a low rating and without any reason.
I'm just saying that there may be TRULY GREAT services, but some "random people" have just gave them low ratings which means that new customers just don't trust these service providers because of the "random people" who have given these awesome service low ratings.

Cmon, just make a system which would give you a possibility to remove the ratings which has given without any reason.
Just because of that one "1 Star rating" I haven't got any orders in last few days.

Please don't take my opinion as a negative one, that's just what I think. What is your opinion about it?

    First off, maybe it's just me, but I don't look at the thread rating before I order services. I look at the posts and comments from previous customers. I think that if you haven't got any new orders, it has nothing to do with the thread rating. It's just that business comes in bursts - sometimes you have more, sometimes less.

    Also, about removing ratings. Maybe in your case, the 1 star rating was given without any thought or by mistake, but in other cases, it might very well come from a disgruntled customer who really was not served well and didn't like the customer experience. Maybe they were even scammed.

    Of course, the thread's OP (the person offering the service) might very well ask the moderators to remove the low rating, in which case he deserves it.

    I think, that if anyone can just remove (or change) the ratings given, it loses its value.

    Just my 2 cents.

    I've never even looked at the thread rating for services or anything. It is irrelevant since anyone can rate it for any reason. If people who have not purchased can rate a sales thread, how relevant is that? Not very. Nasty little competitors can just click away.
