Can you divide those 200 pages into some categories?
I think you need to put them in posts under categories and have those categories(less than 10).. then link those categories from the MENU to access all the content.

Normally, the main content of a WP blog is added in the form of posts. A major advantage is that you can set up categories which aid your visitors' navigation, and with SEO. A WP blog with the entire content added as pages could become pretty cumbersome to navigate.

In reality each page is targeting a search keyword and has unique content (costs a fortune but Dan is reall good ROI) then then can go to our free download - there isn't any real rason why they would want to go to a page with different keyword

You shouldn't have too many pages or it would be confusing for your readers and visitors. Make sure you make you site user friendly. If it's not, your bounce rate will sky rocket. Have at least 5-6 pages then categorize your posts. Whenever you have something new to write about or share, make a post about it. Posts are better.

I read a good article on the thesis blog.

It says not to use catogeries in the nav menu because it's still just a dated list from the past. No real navigation.

It says to make resourse pages for the nav menu. So Just say 15% of your posts are about jam.

You'd make a jam resourse page for the nav menu and put in all the best articles about jam.

Then if you want, you can always put catogeries in the sidebar.

So i'd say posts, with resources pages for the most important ones = great nav

Go for posts and just a few top level categories, perhaps about 10. Then you can use sub-categories as well if you need to.

I've got some fairly large sites like that and they've been fine during the last few months of so called Panda update issues.

Add them as posts... there is no sense in having 200+ pages on WP blog...

Posts would be the usual, especially if it's going to be 200.
