Back after a long break and here is what I see about making money online1).Get a website..try selling products with little success.2)Build a list..get a following.3)make some real money selling the dream.Maybe I am wrong but the only ones making real money are really excited about sharing their success with all of us..at a price of course. So prove me wrong somebody..who out there is making a good income not selling anything that has to do with making money online or teaching a system.Just curious.

Most of the people who make their living online have nothing to do with the IM niche. There are so many other niches where you can make money, but the people doing this all go under the radar - you never hear about them because they are not promoting themselves, just the products they sell.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I'll never understand why so many people believe IM means having to sell MMO products.

Think of the top 10 most successful sites. How many of them are generating their profits by selling MMO products? Exactly.

Here's the list of 500 most popular sites according to Alexa: Alexa Top 500 Global Sites

Skim through the first 10 pages of or so. You'll see that the big earners are the ones that are making something creative and adding value to the internet rather selling MMO products as you (OP) concluded.

There are other ways. You can sell a service, something you're good at. I write. I don't sell info products and I do fine.

The make a site, get opt-ins, sell to them model is tried and true, but you absolutely can make money other ways. I'm living proof.

Lots of people. I don't care much about the people you mentioned, they are a lot and all they do is brag and brag.

I personally earn pretty good online, but I'm not going to share my knowledge with everybody, because it took me a lot of time to learn the things I've learned and I'm not willing to sell this.

If you manage to succeed in the IM niche, then you'll have no problem succeeding in non-IM niches. People in IM are more privy to all the strategies that marketers use because they themselves are marketers too. But go into a non-IM niche and they will probably have no idea about affiliate programs, JVs, product launches...

But in any case, one thing that holds in all niches is the necessity of building a list, because this is what helps you build a long term business.

Sorry to burst your bubble but I sell websites and domains and do not sell "methods." Never sold a "method" in my life.
