I dont know about you but when Im working online I ALWAYS have multiple windows and notepads and software running in the background.

But Im thinking of making a change for the better...

What do you think?

Could this make me more productive?

One screen for each task.

I have a buddy that makes thousands of dollars a day trading Futures. He uses a setup with three monitors and from what I can tell by watching him, he needs each and every one of them...There's no doubt that more real estate to work with can always help but from my experience that's a bit...much.

"TAKE ACTION" is the first thing everyone tells you and then they leave it at that. I'll add a second part: TRACK EVERYTHING" - It's the only way to ensure your ACTION leads to results.

It seems like the three on top would make your neck hurt. I have lots of friends that use three screens, but six is bit much, unless you are the guy from the movie Swordfish.

Yeah. This definitely is a better solution. And what's even
better is that Mac's have this already.

Well, the Mac's feature is not the same as it is shown in the video above. You can see all the windows working in one screen. But you can't drag to next screen.

And having 6 screens and dragging here and there....going to be a real pain and distracting. Is it really going to be useful?

Yeah, but it's close. You get virtually any
number of screens that you want using just
      1 monitor.

1-3 screens will be good, but having 6 screens is a overkill. Though I really like the Multi-screen screensaver used in swordfish, and wanted to buy a setup like that just to show off that screensaver

I think your setup is awesome. As far as productivity goes, if it helps you focus then it's great. If you consistently lose focus or come off of task, then it's a distraction.

I can certainly see where you could envision the Big Picture

I dunno, is time your "limiting reagent" so to speak? Seems like more of a quality-of-life improvement if you ask me.

It's not that expensive or hard to set up though. With video card technology the way it is these days, a ~$250 dedicated graphics card could easily handle running three (or even six in some cases if you're not a stickler for high resolution) monitors. Run one through VGA, one with HDMI, and the third with a display port adapter (runs about $30, give or take depending on brand/model).

You could also get something like the "TripleHead2Go", which is an external adapter that splits 3 ways. Those things are a bit pricier though, probably run you ~$280.

Yes I think this would definitely improve most internet marketers productive output, even purely on the amount of time saved tabbing around. I'd love to have 2 or 3 monitors to work with, then I could have, for example, research on the left and right monitors and just type away on the centre one. I can imagine 6 monitors being a bit distracting but hell, if I had the money to burn I'd probably go for a sick setup like that. Seems like a worthwhile extravagence if you spend a decent chunk of time in front of the screen every day.

Thanks for this nice post. It seems like the three on top would create your fretboard harm. I have many acquaintances that use three displays, but six is bit much, unless you are the guy from the film Swordfish.

    I run 4.

1 main one, two side portrait ones, and a 4th 'extra' one (which I'm about to change to a 2nd main one below the first main one.)

I can't work without multiple screens anymore, SO much more productive.

Mac + spaces = multi tasking.

Those monitors just make it look fancy and give you feel of a command center lol.
