Does Spinning Really Help ?

Still wondering if spinning articles well and posting a different version of an article at as many article directories as possible (e.g. 50), will help you or hurt you in the long run ? Will Google actually believe those are unique articles at each site, or will they only put one copy in their listings because the articles are "similar."

Also, would it hurt your credibility if publishers are reading your articles in different places and seeing basically the same content ? I know we can use some good re-writing tools and re-write sentences and words, but is it worth it ?

Or is it better to create completely different articles yourself and only submit to the best of directories like ezinearticles, goarticles, maybe isnare, hubpages or squidoo, or a few other places ?

Anyone tested this ?

My guess is that Google or Yahoo can tell if articles are similar and will not rank them ...

  • Depends on the spinner. Most of the publically available ones are essentially useless since they devolve to the same LSI matrix, but some of the more advanced blackhat tools output content that aren't quite that easily detectable.

AFAIK they're not human-readable enough that you can take blackhat-mangled content and submit it to article directories or other human-edited sources quite yet, but it's plenty good enough to do SEO with.

    • There are many of us that have "spun" articles in ezine articles and other
important directories. This isn't a biggie nowdays. Use the right tools to
      do the right job.

The formula is simple... (right tools)+(application)+(your brain)=SUCCESS.

  • Spinning articles is not blackhat ... People have been spinning content long before "spinners" even came along. It's a natural part of business, it's that simple...

Many that claim to not do it or they hate spinners, they do the same thing, they just keep it hush hush.

  • So what's the difference between you rewriting by hand, and using exactly the same new text, and automating to creation of new articles?

I know of at least one Article Directory owner that knows I use an article spinner, and fully supports me. This directory owner is very outspoken on his dislike of spinners, and is a fellow Warrior.

  • how many chances are there that one person will be reading your articles in different places, and realize that its actually the same article? i think the chance is very very slim, so dont worry too much about it.
and as for google, im sure you will hear from them right away, if they start banning your article, or doesnt get accepted.
  • Here's another way to look at this:

Lets say I have the worlds best article on eliminating cat litter box odor. It has great ideas and will really help cat owners - they'll love their cats once again and, perhaps even adopt more cats thus providing loving homes for many unwanted animals.

Let's say I submit this article to 1 directory. How many people will get to read it and be able to get rid of cat odor in their home and love their cats again? 10? 20? 100?

Now lets say I use a content system, call it a spinner or whatever, but I am referring to a system where I rewrite the sentences and paragraphs in the article BY HAND and then combine them in various ways to make different versions of the same article. I could do this by hand but using software is smart.

Now I submit those "spun" articles to dozens of directories. Now how many people will get to read it? How many more people will love their cats? How many more cats will get good homes?

Now, lets take it a little further. Lets say I have compiled a huge amount of info on getting rid of cat litter odor. Now I can assemble this information into dozens of different articles - articles on the same topic but which contain different information to one degree or another. Content manipulation can help you do this quickly and easily once the initial work is done.

Now how many of you can say that you don't write a bunch of articles on basically the same topic but using a slightly different angle?

You see - it's all about getting your message out to as many people as possible. Whether your message is about eliminating cat odor, natural cures for arthritis or how to attract orioles to your yard doesn't it make sense to get it out there in as many forms as you can?

    • absolutely brilliantly explained. Especially the bit about using software to leverage your time. Thats what the naysayers don't get - it's about 'maximizing your bangs per buck'.

  • Of course it depends on the software you use to spin the content.

    • Absolutely. No point in using synonym spinners, they only produce crap.
You need something that you have 100% control over. I'm sure James
      will agree with me here.

  • there's very little 'unique' stuff out there, period. Most stuff is 'existing stuff' which is 'spun' somehow, whether it's by machine or by hand. Unless of course you write your stuff in a total vacuum, and only connect to the internet to upload. Otherwise, you read something, you like it, you absorb it, you use it somewhere else.

What the OP is asking, I think, is if automated spinning is worthwhile. Right now, I'd give a resounding YES to that. It's a simple way to make the most of your resources. And the need for 'human involvment' depends on the tool, obviously.
  • Take the time and manually spin them. It is so worth it.

In fact, if you really want to see massive results, spin your articles and set them up as a linkwheel. Lemonarian on WF has a great report that explains how to set up a linkwheel properly.

Anyways, linking your spun articles correctly is THE key!

  • There are some spinning programs that I have heard are useful, but I have tried to use a couple and have found that they massacre my writing to the point where I am better off just writing a new article so people understand it.

I always just recommend to take 5 minutes and rewrite it manually rather than using software, you can always tell the difference in quality.

    • I don't use article spinners anymore because the few ones I used took more time spinning the articles than re-writing the articles myself. However, I have heard good things about James's and Gleen's article spinning software.

I may have to try one or both of them one day, but for now I will continue to rewrite my articles or outsource them out for a few dollars.

  • I have had some great success doing this, but like someone mentioned above the free article spinners will not cut it, and usually the grammar and spelling is baaad. I use Power Article Rewriter, they offer a trial and I recommend at least trying it out. Plus you can make multiple rewrites in one pass and have a copy for article directories, and one for blogs, websites and everything else.
