Is there a way to tell what page in Google my site is listed for specific keyword. So for example if I am buried in google for a particular keyword, is there a way to find out where I am?

  • There are many paid programs that do this. However Traffic Javis allows you to do it for free (though only if you are on the nth first listing, don't quite recall the exact number). Also, iGoogle Webmaster tools allow you to see from which keywords are your visitors coming and the position of your page in their listings for that keywords.
  • Thanks Miguel, Can you tell me more about Traffic Javis, wwhere can I get it?

  • John,

If you're using Firefox you can use the Rank Checker plugin from SEOBook:

  • Thanks MIke!
  • I second Mike's suggestion. In fact you can now get the SEO Bar which is an 'all in one' collection of Aaron Wall's SEO tools.

    • I posed this same question recently but the best I could do was see specific keywords rank but it wouldn't tell me the exact PAGE in the search results my site landed.

You can do a basic search to see if you're actually listed for your keyword. Use the Google Advanced Search feature. So run the search for your keyword, then go "search within results" at the bottom of the results and insert your url. At the very least, you can tell if your site is coming up for that keyword. To find your site in the results, however, you might have to simply go through the pages until you find it.

I'm certainly open to better methods.

  • Jeff,

I'm using Firefox 3.0.5 and McAfee Security Suite, and didn't get that message. Works fine for me.

It is one of those head-scratcher messages, though, that I've gotten with other downloads/plugins. Don't know what else to tell you; maybe someone with a little more tech savvy will chime in here.

    • Thanks Mike,

I'm sure that the download is safe.

I am just intrigued by the messages.

As you suggest, perhaps someone else would like to chime in and cure my curiosity!

      Best Regards,
      Jeff.
