Problem with transparent book cover (can you help me?)

I make graphics with drop shadows all of the time. And it's cool. But I can't figure out an easy way to make it transparent (without the ugly white box around it).

Is there a FREE, online site that will take any graphic I have and make it transparent... this way when I paste it on a colored background... so it looks like it's literally floating on top of the colored background?

Of course I can do this in Photoshop, but I'm looking for an easier way... just upload to a site and click a few button.

Any ideas?

    Fwiw, jpeg format won't support transparency, so if you're trying to use a .jpg extention you'll need to switch over to a .png format. A png image will support transparency.

      Yes, all of my graphics are .png -

      Any ideas on where to upload my .png file, click a few buttons, and make my drop-shadowed artwork (usually book covers) become transparent?

    It all depends on what software are you using? If you are using photoshop you can adjust transparency by layer which is probably your best option. I am not sure if I fully understand your question though. Can you clarify what you mean by the white box and where it is in your image.

    I am not aware of any site that does it but what you can do in Photoshop is use your Magic wand and select the white background so that you get the "marching ants" and then delete.

    Now you have a transparent background. Save the file as .png file and when you load into any website, it will be transparent.
