Key word and niche research

I have been trying to figure out how to make this IM stuff work and have had a couple of dismal failures so far. But I have kept reading the WF and trying to learn. I picked up an article on the 5 dollar formula and Caroline Middlebrook's Niche Site and figured that even I can do that. All I got to do is find the right niches and key words.

So I am again trying to figure out a niche or two to target. I have been looking at Spyfu to find key words that pay enough to make the Google Adwords pay enough. But then Google just turned me down for that, and I am not sure why. However, o well, I will figure out how to deal with that somehow. My problem is no matter how many threads I read on WF about key words, niches and article writing it doesn't seem to help me find anything.

I looked at FOREX as I heard that was popular but the numbers didn't seem to work, way too much competition and the searches drop off after you get away from the main search term of FOREX. I looked at payday loans and mortgage and similar results occurred. Everything I look at seems to end up the same way. I am not sure what question to even ask other than, what am I doing wrong?

I have an interest in identity theft and legal problems for other reasons and I could use it to drive traffic to other interests I have. Which involve helping businesses increase their productivity by solving a problem faced by 70% of their employees each year at no cost to the company.

I am not sure what more I can say here to better ask my question. I can't see how anyone can answer me given what I have said so far. And I have already written a bunch.

    You sound frustrated. What is your passion? Your REAL passion. . . I don't see this is making money. I see it as, "What is my passion and can I write about and work on a project without becoming bored." When you have a TRUE passion, the money follows. I have learnt this lesson the hard way. Hope that helps.

      I am frustrated. I feel stupid. When I read what others say about it they sound like it is so simple.

      Right now my passion is being able to support myself. I just want to be able to pay some rent and buy food. I can't work due to health problems, and my wife can't work because of me. We lost our houses and now live with family. I get my disability check which covers mediaal expenses and food etc but nothing else. I mentioned the interest in identity theft and legal issues already in my first post. Politics and business in general are my interests. I am hesitant to get involved in the politics as that can get pretty heated and I am somewhat a red neck conservative. And I don't see how that field could be monetized anyway.

      Maybe I am just a dull boring person with no hope. I feel like that when I try to do this research. However, I never planned on doing the article writing anyway. There are people that do that for a living, why would I do that, so the niche is not important. The fact that it will make money is the important factor. I don't do brain surgery, and I don't fix my car. I let professionals do that and I believe that copy writers will do the articles better than I ever could.

      Unfortunately no. I just found out a week or so that my name domain was already registered. So that is the guy that has it I guess. I didn't know there were any others with my name in the world. I thought my name was going to die out as I have no male cousins that have male children and only girls in my immediate family.

      Notice he is located in the UK and I moved to and reside in the USA since 1964. Not sure of the purpose of your question but I hope I answered it to your satisfaction. Too bad you couldn't have answered mine. But thanks anyway.

        I know this is probably NOT what you want to hear but I promise you that it IS THE ROAD TO YOUR SUCCESS...

        Here's the deal...

        IMO you need to, as mentioned earlier FIND YOUR PASSION! Passion has 2 definitions.... "Strong Emotion" & "Suffer For" (or something like that)...

        Point is you have to pick a topic you, if you won the Lottery ($300 Million),... TODAY

        What Would You Spend Your Time Doing For PLEASURE? The reason we say this is because you will CONTINUE to have a lot of failures if you keep chasing markets that are "HOT"

        Again this is my humble opinion, as there are far greater minds in here. But I believe that EVEN THOUGH YOU NEEDED THE MONEY YESTERDAY, you will first need to pick a market you either...

        1. Know a SH*T Load About Right Now
        2. OR Would enjoy spending 18 hours a day /7 days a week /365 days of the year... Researching, Building a Reputation/Brand, Building Relationship and doing Good ol' Market Research

        This is not "Easy" as they all say. But I promise you this, if you STOP jumping from "Money Making Opp" to "Money Making Opp", and instead spend your time in a Market/Niche you could see yourself building a Huge Brand in and spent your time helping others (expecting ABSOLUTELY nothing in return), building relationships (reciprocity) and look for...

        1 MAJOR THING... What is your Markets/Niche BIGGEST Irrational Need... Wants, Desires, Pains, Dreams & Aspirations?

        Forget about making money for awhile! Even Though there are 1000's of salesletters online saying you can make 1 trillion dollars in 13 minutes, it will not be that easy for you or I, No matter how many $5,000 courses we buy "into"...

        Here's the deal though...

        If you forget about "Just Making Money" for a little bit and instead build a reputation, brand, relationships within your market/niche EXPECTING NOTHING IN RETURN. Then you will already be A MILLION YEARS AHEAD OF THE GAME!

        Because then you will now be in the "Heart of Your Market" and this is when you will be able to "Pump Out Products, Services, Affiliate Promotions" until your face falls off... But the best part is you will know exactly...

        HOW TO DO IT IN A WAY THAT GOES RIGHT TO THE HEART OF THE MARKET. What products that market is "Irrationally Searching for Everyday" and so on...

        Let me Recap...

        1. Pick Your Passion
        2. Join EVERY community, Top Rated blog, competitors email list (competition spying), join tele-seminars, read books (and esepcially "book reviews"),etc and "Dround Yourself In This Niche" (which can actually be "suffering" sometimes... Hence the word "Passion"
        3. IDENTIFY your Markets/Niche Most Irrational Pain, Fear, Frustration, Etc.


        Now instead of RUINING those "hard-earned" realtionships within your market by tryting to sell them first chance you get.

        Instead...

        1. Create a Blog for Free
        2. Start giving away stuff of Value for Free (Videos, Free Reports, Audios)
        3. Ask them to Opt-In to you List

        And now your "On THEE WAY" to have a never ending source of cash... And by doing something you Love & are Passionaite about...

        Now ACTUALLY LISTEN to them (prospects/clients/friends) and their feedback. Ask them directly what theyir NEEDS are, by phone 1 on 1 if you can and that will give you more "Golden Nuggets" than any Article, Course or Seimnar will ever give you because its specific to YOU PASSION/MARKET/Group of Prospects!

        Once you have a list start delivering....

        Free COntent (daily, weekly, monthly)

        And every so often slip in one of these...

        FREE CONTENT + Personal Stories + Affiliate Links= $$$$$

        Then start selling your own "Info Products" when you can. This might sound like it will take you a year but from the implication I got, if you spend as much time in any other Market/Niche as you do right now in the "How Can I Make Money Niche"...

        You Can Easily Do This In A MAtter of Weeks.

        If you want my honest, bottom of the heart, and "TAKE IT TO THE BANK AND CASH IT" ADVICE... This is IT!

        When I realized this, it sucked because I was so convinced by all these "gurus" that I would make a Cool Million Overnight and now I actually was going to have to work... DAMN!

        But once you "Get It" then you will see that the potential is there for the taking but you need to stop chasing that "Next Best" Opportunity and START doing some actual KICK ASS Market Invasion.

        And I am speaking from my own experience Tim and in no way mean to say that your a Money Opp Chaser. Thats was what I was... lol And still am but I fight the habit on a everday basis, like an acholic fights the urge to drink.

        I know it will feel great but it will only make me feel BAD as *&^% when I am done and have wasted 10 hours getting nothing done. But if I in anyway implied thats how you were then I woudl just like you to know that I was talking about what happened to me, trying to show you what NOT TO DO and by doing so saving you months, Hell Maybe Years of chasing and from psending 100 Times more money then you ever thought you would "logically" spend on Courses.,

        P.S. I would just like to state for the record Tim, there are ways to make money online, pretty much INSTANTLY. But they require Investing Money (and alot of it, too) in Testing.

        Like doing PPC and sending traffic to Affiliate Links or CPA Offers.

        If thats what you were just talking about let me know I will rewrite my answer.

        P.P.S. If I rambled I apologize but creating a product has my mind overflowing with this kind of info that is dying to escape my head before I lay down to sleep... lol

        Anyone else know the feeling?

        And I am to lazy right now to read this long ass post I just typed so I will just hope it makes sense to Tim and hopefully others who have toook the Gateway Drug into our World of IM in the Undergroung WF Club!

    Identity Theft is not a bad niche, there are a number of affiliate programs there.
    You obviously have an interest/knowledge in the topic so why not start there?

    Start making a list of keywords related to the niche, then expand on them with keyword research tools.
