    Offer review copies.....
Give it away to a limited number of people in return for an honest opinion...

Honestly I would say it depends on your launch.

If you are looking to launch a high ticket item and sell it for a few thousand per unit - then I recommend contacting major players in your niche months in advance of the launch to get your reviews.

You may have to pay for these reviews - in fact, if your going to launch a high ticket price item it is well worth paying the $500+ that it will cost to get a "guru" to review your product - as in business/marketing there is a lot which comes with a name. (People see a "guru" giving your product the thumbs up then they want to buy it).

However, in other cases, writing and selling a WSO product for example, I recommend you simply send out some review copies a week before your launch and don't launch until you have atleast 3 reviews/testimonials back.

You might be offering a service however, such as MiniSite Design, and you need some testimonials from your happy customers - if that's the case then a simple email should be sufficent.

Simple think them up by yourself as most of the online marketers do.

Watch out. If you pay for a review the reviewer has to disclose this fact in the review. (Per FTC guidelines.)

Simple think them up by yourself as most of the online marketers do.
This is both unethical and illegal.

To get honest, sincere pre-launch testimonials, find past customers, affiliates and colleagues and simply ask them. Be sure to give them a clear deadline as a condition of the offer. Offer them a complimentary copy of the product and flatter them that their opinion matters.

I got several great testimonials from Warriors simply by going through my box of PMs, selecting folks who had sent me compliments and asking if they had time to do a review in exchange for a free copy of my book/ebook. I also tried using Twitter for this, less succesfully. People who know they don't have time/inclination to do a review normally don't ask for the free copy.

i dont think it is a good idea to think it up yourself . It is dishonest and unethical . You don't have to result to writing your own testimonials . Best way i know to get testimonials is to build a syndicate of high marketers you have relationship with and then ask for reviews

I generally send out copies to a select few on my list and then follow up ensure that when my product is launched, the reviews will be added to the thread.

From there, it only adds up.

I don't. I offer a discounted review copy in the WSO in addition to the regular price copy with no review necessary. Works pretty well for getting testimonials and they aren't fake.

In my last WSO I did exactly that. Offer a discount for a review copy and I'm certain you won't be short of testimonials and reviews.

As soon as you start to get reviews and comments paste them into your sales letter. This will increase your sales conversions because of the proof it adds.

I'd contact trustworthy member of WF and ask them if they want your product and that you would appreciate a review. You mustn't force people to give a review for your WSO!

If you make a post "10 FREE copies available for Warriors wanting to learn how to _________," in exchange for honest review, you will get almost instant takers.

That's only if you post in this section: Wanted - Members Looking To Hire You as Will said in the first reply.

Anywhere else and that post will likely be deleted.

BJ, you probably know this; but testimonials, strictly speaking, are what you get from buyers after your launch. Of course, you can get reviews at any time.

This should be part of your pre-launch process -- you want to be building momentum via a blog, some articles, forum postings, early content to draw people to a landing page you setup specifically to give away early review copies in return for early reviews.

Another way I've done this for some clients is to hold a pre-release teleconference/teleseminar where you close with an offer to review and provide feedback.

        This accomplishes several things:

        1. Sets your pipeline in motion so you are beginning to build traffic, list and followers prior to your launch
        2. You get feedback which can typically always be lumped into champion testimonials or constructive feedback for improving the product
        3. You can find some early affiliates this way who will go on the promote your products
        4. You build early buzz that helps convert larger market when you open the doors

You can use the comments you get from the product launch as testimonials. It serves as a "social proof." But if you are looking for actual testimonials, they need to buy your product first, and you'll get testimonials instantly (if you offer a lot of value).

When you make internal lunches (within your list), you can get testimonials from those who register for whatever you are offering. Then you can have those testimonials when you create a JV Lunch or make a version 2.0 of what you are offering.

You can randomly PM a bunch of members asking them if they want a review copy, I've had it done to me before.

we can also do product exchange and than give each other testimonials.. ^.^
but if we want to get more worth, ask to the senior internet marketer (or whoever that related to your products), but before we must know more close to them, one of the way is via twitter.. or forum..

I agree that you should offer review copies. If your package is too pricey to offer for free, cut down the review copy into something manageable. If you normally write 2000 words, offer 500 word reviews. That way you get 4 X Reviews to the same effect.

Furthermore as someone else mentioned you should always give criteria, or you might suffer very low quality reviews. Give your reviewers 3 questions you want them to answer, 100 words minimum. Or something to that extent so you can get the most out of it.
